p0pc0rn (7/17/2008)
So we maybe having the run around when it comes to FH's jacket but we did get 2 things crossed off our list. FH and I both have wedding rings now and best of all...WE HAVE A HONEYMOON BOOKED *does the happy dance* . I'm so excited about the trip now. We're going to the Sandals Grande resort in St. Lucia in the Caribbean! Now if only the rest of the planning could get done as easly. Xaria: I like your idea of setting a date for FH and asking him what he wants to get done that day. I think I'll try that with my FH. Brenna: the day is coming fast and doesn't it seem like the list is longer then ever. It's okay though. Take a deep breathe and it will all work out in the end (or so I keep telling myself). Nicotina: YAY to getting a DJ and the marriage license. That's gotta be a huge relief to cross off the list. Lovemrk: Wow sounds like quite the tasting. Our was done before we even signed papers for our caterer. We went to their site and expected to recieve like 1 bite each of food. We got 1 plateful each to share and couldn't begin to finish it all. It was great. I love though that they served you wine and with the white gloves on and everything! Klempy: I'm glad to hear it also took you awhile to do the bridesmaid dresses. Those were a bit of a pain as well. That makes me soooo happy for you. That's where I wanted to go, but we can't afford it

| Nicotina : congrats on the marriage license. I think this of all people made me realize this is real! Popcorn: kudos on booking the honeymoon. I did mine in January and have not thought about it for months, but now I have to get moving on the final things for the trip as we are heading to three countries and I still have to pick what excursions I want to take. Yesterday, while on a high after boot camp I worked on my thank you speech for the wedding. It's almost done. Yes ladies I am a bit crazy but I know FH won't say anything and its up to me. So I just have to type it up and do a few tweeks in September when I have nothing to do. I am a financial planner by occupation, and a CA by training, so that is why I am a bit forward thinking. FH is totally opposite to me and that is why he has no clothes, no ring and no lawyer for the prenup (its been done by my lawyer since March) and no idea about the wedding - other than the date!

| Holy, sounds like everyone is making some progress.. I can't believe it's Friday already, this week has FLOWN by! Lovemrk, I'm so excited for our tasting, although I have no idea what to expect. It's at a country club though, and they have a restaurant there as well so I think we will be eating in there. I'm going with my mom though, FH can't make it up during the week.. oh well for him! lol Popcorn, Happy to hear about the honeymoon! Now that it's booked, you're going to start looking forward to it more than the wedding itself Nicotina... How's the dental work coming? Last I remember it was coming near the end. Xaria, Thanks for the update, writing a thank you speech is something that totally slipped my mind. Generally, what do you say in a TY speech (I haven't been to a wedding since I was 10, and they don't really count). I think it's awesome you're so organized and prepared. Usually I'm the same, but I think I've been slacking lately b/c I know I'm off work soon (tentatively done at the end of July). Speaking of work.. I should go to bed.. lol. hope you ladies have a lovely day

| Xaria...wow that's awesome on the speech. I am exactly like you, I love to have everything done quite early. My speech was written a couple of months ago and yes I am doing it. Both FH and I are pretty shy so I think I will be shocking him. He has no clue. Popcorn...so sorry to hear about the runaround you are getting from the tux place. They kind of sound sketchy to me especially since reading that whole piece on...whomever gets the deposit in here first gets the kilts. I wish you luck. By the way....8 weeks today!!!!

| In my thank you speech I thanked my parents for their support, my MOH, the Best Man and Peter's sisters (for welcoming me into the family) and of course everyone for coming to the wedding. I also mentioned a bit about the theme - two lives one path to indicate how we met (internet) and how are lives were so interwined before we met. Since both of Peter's parents are dead I mentioned how they would be happy and told people to look at the pictures at the memory table. Lastly I did thank Peter. My take on the speech is a thank you from both of us, to our guests and family but also its from me and the things I think are important. I did add some humour and some emotion to it. I thought you ladies would get a kick out of this. FH comes home yesterday and mentions the BM (who he took 6 months to ask) is asking all kinds of questions about the wedding such as what is he going to wear, # of bridesmaids and their dress colour. Of course FH has no idea cause even if I told me he did not listen. So BM said "I guess I am speaking to the wrong person." Its so funny that BM who has only been asked 2 weeks ago has asked more questions than FH! So now that the questions have been asked there is no excuse from FH to go tux shopping. We go ring shopping today so ladies wish me luck that FH finally makes up his mind.

| Oh ladies- it sounds like its really coming together for every one! Popcorn - I'm happy to hear that the tux thing is taken care of and rings too! Wow - you must be relieved. Novault - sometimes it suprises even me how much they (FH's) don't listen. Its such a big weekend for me. The engagement pics came in yesterday, Heres a link for those who would like to see what FH and I look like really. While my smile wasn't completed in these photos (its been photoshoped) it looks approximatley like that now that its completed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/57891289@N00/sets/72157606222498201/ I plan to get the cake crossed off my list tomorrow morning and then the shower is tomorrow afternoon. I hear some of my family might drop by my place after the shower to inspect our house. They are very rarely in the neighbourhood and since the shower is at MOH's which is 10 minutes from mine - they might drop by. Hopely Sunday I can rest a little. So far 20 people have RSVP'd Yes!
