We are doing everything at one location, and the even decorater suggested doing it in the same room to save $1400 and they'll just make room for an "aisle". My question is, how do I have a recieving line if we're already there? I have been to weddings that took place in one location and the couple asked guests to come through the recieving line, and very few did it (FH did not, he's a party pooper).
Any suggestions? Would it be rude to suffle people out to a side room with drinks and snacks, take our pictures then sneak back and have them come through? Man, that even sounds like a lot of work! Help!

We had our ceremony and reception in the same room. After the ceremony, we did an impromptu receiving line in the foyer outside the room. We then did a group picture and then the wedding party took off for pictures while the guests returned to the reception room for cocktails and appies.

Did your guests come out to the recieving line? That's my fear. I know it's silly, but i like the recieving lines!

| I'll trade you! I HATE receiving lines! We're all in one location too, but after the ceremony, the guests will be either outside or in the receiving area while we go for pictures. Then when we get back, the receiving line will start as guests enter the hall.

We did eveyrthing at the same place, but the ceremony was outside and reception inside.
We didnt even want one, and it just happened...
After the ceremony, hubs and I kept walking and then stopped because we didnt know where to meet people for pictures. As guests left their chairs, they came up to us...
It was formal though, more of a casual thing with people standing around talking!

| I have a question for you Belram. Are your guests already going to be seated at their spots for dinner during the ceremony? Are they going to be "free" to move around after the ceremony and before dinner? I can see how this is a tricky one - but not to worry - we'll figure soemthing out!

Yes, everyone did. The had to because the room needed to be flipped for the reception. They didn't have a choice
