| thankfully, we didn't have a contract, but the verbal/written contract that he had hand written was what we were going by, apparently that's not good enough now. I'm glad we didn't lose a deposit anything, but it really makes we stressed to book a place this far in advance now, however if we don't, there won't be much available if we wait a year, you know? I think its best to look around and book your venues as far in advance as possible...as soon as you decide on them since some book up far in advance. My reception venue is completely booked for june, july and august 2009 and have been since FH and I booked ours for July 2010 back in January! so over 18 months in advance u cant even get a fri o sat all summer! Plus if the date is really important to you then u wanna do it asap.

Totally understand your hesitation. But I think it's best to book as soon as you can. Just make sure you get a written contract  Good luck!

| Wow that sucks about your venue! We signed our contract with the photog. today and now we just have to mail it in with the deposit!! We are also hoping to go look at our hopeful hall next weekend. I have been in it lots of timed before but my FH never has and they recently moved it and renovated it. My mom says it is really nice. The only problem is that it doesn't have air conditioning! They are hoping to have it by 2010, but they aren't sure. Eep!

| Hey all, I'm still on a roll with the planning.  We finally booked our reception hall and ceremony venues. We went to see them the other day and they are soo beautiful. We are getting married at a resort so we are having everything done at the same places. They have a spa where we can get ready and then we will be having the ceremony in the Grand Chapel (which is so big and beautiful) and then the reception in a beautiful hall they have there. Also the landscape it perfect for our wedding pictures. And of couse the comp. bridal suite. I am so excited. It was a good deal for eveything. But the catering is pretty pricey. Well I will no for use once I send out invitations. I have pictures from a website. I have also started my guest book and it is turning out beautiful. I am going to be getting my Dress soon too, I will include a picture of it. I am in love with it. Thanks for reading. I'll update some more soon.
