Hi PBZ!!
LOL sorry you already know I haven't but just wanted to bump you and say hi!
2 B Wed in June 2009!
Me (29) + FH (32) + his son (12) = 9.5 years together
Done so far:
-Wedding party chosen/asked
-Put brainstorming into overdrive
-Searched through a million venues in the Toronto and Niagara areas online - seen & rec'd quotes for about 10
-Have begun dress search
-Met with and received quotes from a few planners
-Compiled lists of contacts I like for every vendor type possible (photography, decor, cakes, etc.)
-Booked NOTHING! But getting close........ I think?

lol, thanks hon.
i was using my superawesome google powers but the only thing i found about MLH was a woman who said they spent over $60 000 on their wonderful wedding and how it was so worth it for their one perfect day.
(cough, gasp, sputter, choke, ahem?)
i don't know how (or why) i'd spend 60k on a wedding. gold plated everything? an elephant to ride down the aisle on? kobe beef and lobster for dinner? celine dion performing live for our first dance?
OH, richard simmons as my personal trainer to get me in shape for my dress!!!

| FH's sister suggested we look into it when we were looking for a venue. She went to school close to it and passed it often and said it looked nice. Yes it does but their prices are outrageous! We went right on and booked at Fantasy Farm.

do you mean the venue rental was outrageous? or the whole package including caterer, rentals, etc?
so how does fantasy farm compare- other than price?
what is the reception room like? their photos on their website look like they were taken some time ago.
have you had your wedding yet?
what is your "per head" cost for fantasy farm?
does fantasy farm have a liquor license or is it SOP?

I think it was for everything. I can't remember an exact quote but it was way out of our budget.
With Fantasy Farm the food is $25.50 per person. With the room rental fee, bartender fee, service charge, drinks, food, ceremony it all comes out to a little over $4000 for 65 people. Compared to other places we looked at this was much more in our budget.
We are going to supple our own bar to save money. We know not too many people will be drinking, so we didn't see the need to pay FF to provide the bar.
The place is very cozy and the grounds are pretty. The rooms are pretty. The photos on the web site don't do it justice at all.
Our wedding is may 24, 2009.
