I can't wait til I have an ultrasound!!!! I will be 13 weeks on Sunday so I think that I am going to have to wait awhile unless something goes wonky (KNOCK ON WOOD).

The first one is usually between 18-20 weeks, right? (Unless you have IPS testing done, or aren't sure of dates, or have problems...)
Our first will be between 11-13 weeks because we're opting for the IPS testing.
For anyone who's had that -- did they show you pics of the baby/let you hear the heartbeat? (I know they're really just measuring the neck and looking at the nasal bones, but I'm wondering if they indulge the parents to be at all.)

ok, what is IPS testing?

I am going for my next prenatal appt on Friday and at that time i will be 14.5 weeks. I imagine that I will have my ultrasound just before or after the NEXT appt in 4 weeks.

IPS stands for Integrated Prenatal Screening. It involves 2 blood tests and 1 ultrasound. The ultrasound is done between 11-13 weeks, followed by the first blood test. The second blood test is done at around 15-17 weeks. The ultrasound involves taking measurements of the baby's neck (and often they look at the development of the nasal bones)... the blood tests measure protein levels... the results of all 3 tests are used to determine your risk factor (for things like Down's and other chromosomal abnormalities). It doesn't tell you that your baby has those things, just assigns your risk factor. You can then decide whether to proceed with amnio (if your risk factor is high).

That's so exciting, for all the moms that have heard their baby's heartbeats. My first ultrasound is on the 26th so we'll get to hear it then (hopefully). The doppler my GP has doesn't pick up the heartbeat until 12 weeks, so we didn't get to hear it at our appointment on Monday.
I just had a slew of bloodwork done, leading up to my 10 week appointment and all is well. Whew!
How far along is everyone today? I'm 10 weeks 5 days.

Has anyone had their referrals sent in yet? DH and I decided to go with an obstetrician and we see her for the first appointment in July.

I am 14 weeks 6 days today.  I haven't decided what I'll go with yet.  My doctor does not deliver babies so I'm going to have to make my mind up eventually   at our last appointment she said she's probably pass me on around 6 or 7 months (sooner if I want) but I really like her and will most likely stay with her as long as I can

I am going for my first doctors appointment today.  I really hope I like her as it's impossible to find a doctor these days.  My family doc referred me for my blood work and my u/s, but from now on, I'll be seeing the new doc and then maybe an OBGYN.

I will be 14 weeks this week. I've been feeling really good, finally have a bit more energy, but this morning when I woke up I was throwing up like crazy so I decided to stay home from work. I feel kind of bad... but I definitely didn't want to spend the entire day throwing up at work! Hopefully this goes away soon!

I am 13 weeks tomorrow and I have a little more energy.  I am not needing to be in bed by 8:30 every night like I used to.  My morning sickness comes and goes, last time I threw up was on Friday, so I'm hoping that part is done.  I keep hearing the second trimester is the best, so I keep waiting to feel fantastic.

Well hopefully feeling fantastic happens very soon for the both of us! I've noticed I have a bit more energy as well. I actually wanted to go for a walk this weekend! I've been trying to convince myself that I should get out and do more walking, but the energy levels have just not been there, and the weather was terrible all of last week!

ETA: here's hoping that Friday was your last time throwing up! I keep reading that it should go away
