Were you scared of taking it?

How many did you take?

Did you need to take it the whole pregnancy, or just the first trimester?

I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.... I've lost 6 pounds in 7 days.  I'm keeping hydrated, and I don't think I'm puking up my Prenatal vitamins, but this is exhausting.

My mom made me feel SO GUILTY about even THINKING of filling my prescription for diclectin.....

I'm sorry I can't offer any personal experience, but just wanted to say don't let your mom or anyone else make you feel bad about this!  The best thing for you and your baby is going to be for you to be able to keep food in your stomach, function normally, etc. without feeling sick and weak all the time!  If you are losing weight that quickly, you most likely are dehydrated as well.  Your doctor wouldn't have prescribed it if it weren't safe - and it sounds like you've been hit really hard by the m/s, so don't be a hero, ok?!

I wasn't put on Diclectin until I was about 14 weeks because I was hospitalized for dehydration. At that point I was taking 4 a day and did so until I was about 22-23 weeks. Then I slowly cut back, taking 3 for a week, then cutting down to 2. Now I take one at night and I'm good the next day. Some days I need to take an extra one when I wake up, but generally speaking I'm good with the 1. I'll be on them until this baby is born...

I'd rather still be taking them and not throwing up. Puking is SO much harder at 7-8 months pregnant then it was when I was 3-4 months.

Good Luck!

I started out on 4 pills a day and weaned down to 2 and then 1 a day.

My sister made me feel bad about taking it, but my response was that if I can enjoy being pregnant by taking this pill then I am going to do it! Being pregnant is supposed to be a wonderful time in our lives, but if you are miserable then you can enjoy it!!

Ignore your mom and do what you want to do!!

BO, I went on Diclectin toward the end of my second month, I couldn't take the all day nausea anymore (thankfully, I never threw up, just constantly thought I was going to. Crackers were my best friend).  I was on 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 2 at bedtime, which I think is the standard dose (though my nausea was a gagillion times worse at night, so that I spent most of it in the bathroom willing myself to get sick, which resulted in little sleep).  I stayed on it for a couple months, then weaned myself off it (in case I was still sick). I was fine after my 4th month and didn't need it any more. Connor, as you know, is fine.

My friend was on 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 4 at night, her sickness was so bad. She said that only took the edge off it as well. Her son is perfectly fine, too.

I had no qualms about going on it, I knew enough people who were on it who had healthy happy babies. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for filling that prescription. I can't imagine throwing up so much I'd lose 6 pounds in a week while pregnant.  Go on it; it will help!

Tell your mom to relax! Diclectin is totally safe and the only thing that got me through the first trimester. I stopped taking it after about 14 weeks, but my SIL has to keep taking them otherwise she'll start throwing up again. They are a really mild drug and totally safe for the baby, so your mom shouldn't make you feel guilty at all for filling your prescription. In fact, losing weight this radically will do more harm to your baby than taking the drug. Do yourself a favor and get the prescription filled!

I was on 4 a day until 2 weeks ago where I went down to 2/day and today I am 15weeks and 3 days and it is my first official day of 0 pills

why would you feel bad about taking them?  it's not like you're getting all doped up on painkillers or anything!  diclectin is perfectly safe and has been used for many many years with lots of studies.  Not ALL drugs are bad for you - there are certain ones that are safe to take during pregnancy and diclectin is specifically FOR morning sickness - it even has a little picture of a preggo on it

it's just ignorant to make you feel bad about something that they have absolutely no knowledge on IMO
