I was married on June 6th, and I sent out our thank you notes this past monday.. I just got them all sent back to me in the mail becasue apparently they are too small and so need DOUBLE postage. They are supposed to be 140mm in width.. and they are just over 130... I actually went to canada post when I was mailing them and they put the postage on for me!!!! Now what am I to do?? I don't want to pay for double postage when I could just put them in a bigger envelope.. but Canada post have already put the postage on them for me! I am sooo mad!!!

ARGH! Frustrating! I would go back to the CP office who put the postage on for you and demand an explanation! Maybe they can still send them through for you since THEY put the postage on!

we had this problem with our reply cards! everyone that guest's sent back to use got dinged double postage-my mom had to pay(they all went to her house)when she asked why(cause she had stamped them all)we got told because they were too small to go thru the sorter so they to be sorted by hand. too freaken bad! thats your job!

my mom fought enough about that we didn't end up paying it all-i think we gave them $5 more but i think it's insane!

I have sent them an e-mail ccomplaint... asking for the money for the second postage... What kills me is I took them into the post office to be stamped and the lady did them herself.. If she had of told me I would have simply put them in a bigger envelope!

Will let you know how it turns out.. but a word of warning to other brides.. make sure your envelopes are the right size!

Thankfully I didn't have to go through this, but I have had it up to *here* with CP.

DH runs our business from home and it results in getting a fair number of parcels. The letter carrier will not buzz our apartment to let us know that there is a parcel and when we get the slip it says that delivery was attempted (bull, considering that DH works from home and the phone doesn't indicate any missed calls from the building lobby) it is dated at least two days previously and often times we have already picked up the parcel at the post office (having tracked parcels online when we know they are coming).

Once, when we knew that a parcel was due to arrive, having tracked it online, we left a note for the letter carrier indicating that DH would be home all day and could he please buzz us so DH could go down and get the parcel. The note was taken out of the box and we didn't even get the card indicating that a parcel was waiting. We were still able to pick it up that night at the depot but still!!!

I have called the Barrie Post Offices Superintendant a number of times, and I have also called the 800 number for the head office in Ottawa.  The same thing happens every time.

On another note, my sister just sent out her invites for her September wedding and was told at the post office that she would have to pay extra for oversized envelopes. This was after my DH took a trip to the post office to have them weighed and measured for her (the rest of us were back at the "invitation party" finishing addressing and stamping envelopes). DH was told that they were just *UNDER* and that regular postage would be fine.  Man, was my sister pissed!!!!
