| Hi ladies need a little advice here....since my dad wasn't approved to visit Canada for the wedding in Cuba (very long story)...is it unheard of that bride and groom will walk the isle together???? I don't have anyone to give me away, ofcourse there's my mom and my future dad in law that volunteered but I'm not sure what to do......please help!!!! thanks!!

I'd say either walk yourself or have your mom walk you.
Married the Best Man on Land or Sea on Sept 29/07 and expecting a Pink Princess on or around Dec 7/08!!!! Also known as Pinky!!!

No, I don't think I'd walk down the aisle with my FH. If my father couldn't be there, I'd choose a close friend or other relative. If none of those were available, I'd choose to walk proudly by myself. I've seen that done. Hope you can sort this out.
Finally married on June 23, 2007 Still popping in once in awhile to say hello http://barbandmike.weddingannouncer.com/welcome.html

I've seen lots of weddings where a mother walks the bride down, or both a mom and dad, a brother, an uncle, etc, etc.... maybe you can have both your mom and dad-in-law do the honour?

| Do whatever you want. If my Grandfather wasn't able to walk me then I was going to walk alone and meet DH half way. If you walk together then its a new symbolic meaning. Your making the journey there together vs. being given to him

Your making the journey there together vs. being given to him that is a nice way of looking at it. However, if there was a reason that my dad could not go with me then i would have had my mother or sister walk me down.

Another nice idea is to carry a picture of your dad in a locket or in your bouquet to symbolize he is there with you, even if he couldn't be there physically.
