| I have invited 192 and I already have 15 not coming with a possible 20 more not coming. I just want to know if a drastic decline in your numbers affected anything? Were you upset or relieved? and did it still turn out to be a good party? I am really worried it's not going to turn out to be what i dreamed of!

We invited about 160 people, and we are anticipating between 80-100 people at the wedding based on the replies so far. We live in Ontario, and more than half our guest list was people from Ontario. We are having the wedding in Alberta, so we expected a lot of people not to be able to come. We really wanted 100 people at the wedding, so it's turning out to be just about perfect!

The hall holds 225 comfortably with a full dance floor...i guess I am just worried that it will look empty wtih so many people missing. But I guess that would leave more room between tables??

Don't worry, it'll be awesome!
We invited like 150 people and only had 75.
We too were one of those people who had a wedding away from where we lived and most of our invites were actually out of province or overseas, so of course many people were not able to make the trip out.
But many still did when you think about it, out of those 75 only 15 were local, so we had so many people willing to travel for us. If you think of it that way it'll make you feel better Of course we felt disappointed at first too when we kept getting no replies and were worried that it was going to be different than we envisioned, because we envisioned 100 and even being under was upsetting to us. Plus noone like rejection.
But it was absolutely perfect!!! Our hall too held way more people than we had, but they arranged the tables perfectly to make it seem really full! A little more space between the tables, but also more space around the outside (tables were more in the middle), and less people per table. So all in all it looked great! And it definitely didn't feel empty. Also after greeting 70 plus people in a receiving line we were happy that we didn't have any more

it's always better to have more space between tables, and what's even better is to have 8 ppl at 10-person tables. they will love the extra space! i hate being stuck at a 10-person table; it's so crammed!
i forget where i heard this, but they say to invite more ppl than you want to attend, because there is usually a 75% to 90% attendance percentage. this depends obviously on if it's a holiday weekend, summer vs. winter, etc.
