Last year I quite smoking, just before I ordered my dress. This year when I got it, I can't get it on!!   I need to drop at least 2 dress sizes by mid August! Any Suggestions?

I've been hitting the gym hard for the last 3 weeks (my roommate is a trainer, he's taking me) and I've been trying to work on my eating habbits. I just need some help! I'm new all this "diet" stuff. I've always been somewhat lucky with the fact that I could eat almost whatever I want & not put on much, but now I REALLY need to lose! Anyone know any way to drop weight quickly, & yet still be healthy about it?

I'm kind of desperate here...

I can't believe it went by SO fast

I would just watch your overall caloric intake with your caloric output; eating right and exercise is really the only way to go about it.  If you go to www.fitday.com, you can start your own online food and exercise diary.  They have a lot of food already entered into the system, plus you can add your own if you can't find it in their list.  And it's free.

Ask your trainer friend how many and what kind calories you should be eating, given how often you are going to the gym; you don't want to lose muscle, become sick or hurt yourself before the wedding.

Good luck!  I'm sure you will do great!

Make sure you do weights as well as cardio.

Also, eating 5 smaller meals during the day vs 3 large meals is better for your body, since you maintain your blood sugar levels.

Just keep it up!  Good luck

I recommend calorie counting. Some people are really against it and will tell you that its unhealthy. IMO it works and its totally healthy if you get your calories from good sources. I lost 25 lbs!! I had gained 20 lbs from quitting smoking!

Replace as many high calorie drinks (pop, juice, alcohol, etc) as you can with water

It's also great that you have a trainer to help you!  I'm sure he can give you lots of good advice and motivation

Go to the gym 3-4 days a week.  Weight training a alternating every other day and about 30 -45 minutes of cardio every day.  Make sure to give your muscles a days rest before doing more weight training.  Your muscles need time to recover.

Eat healthy snacks in between meals (this helps to speed up metabolism).  Don't eat after 8pm and drink lots of water! They also say drinking green tea helps as well.

Good luck..I am sure you will do great.
