We are hoping to have 100 people tops at our wedding. Which does not leave room for many friends or parents friends to attend. I was hoping to send the first set of invites out and as we get NOs then we can send other out to friends.

What I need to know is how far in advance do I send the A list invites out?
Do I make the RSVP date earlier for the A list ?
When should the B list go out?

I sent mine out early May, for my JUNE 20 reply date. So a month and a half...

I received a bunch of NO's right off the bat, but it was from people that had holidays or whatnot and knew in advance (summer wedding), I'd say about 10-15 no's in the first week or two.

If I were you, I'd send your invites out earlier, that way they all have the same reply date and no one will know about a B list. You can always claim the invites came back to you in the mail a week or two after you sent them....

I JUST got another invite returned to me, wrong address, last week!!! over a month after they went out!

We did it, and it was everything I imagined it would be!

I would be inclined to send them out earlier and have an earlier RSVP date.

I sent my invites out beginning April, my reply date was June 1 and the wedding was July 15 (my venue had to know 1 month before of the final numbers, and I needed those 2 weeks from June 1 to 15, to run around calling all the people who just didn't reply at all!).

Anyway so I gave about 2 months for my invites from the send out date to the reply date, well I guess 7 weeks by the time people got them. It worked out well, I got some nos right off the bat and was able to send out additional invites and those people still got theirs 1 month before the reply date. None of my guests thought it odd that I sent invites out so early or anything. But I had mostly out of town guests so I wanted them to have lots of time to get the hotel info etc.
