Do you feel that people treat you differently now that your married? Like your more grown up? Therefore more respected?

FH and I can't really figure it out but it feels different

I'm not married yet, but I just had a shower.  My mother's friend gave me these beautiful (expensive) candlesticks.  I remember thinking, wow, that's a grown up gift.. I'm going to be able to have nice stuff in my home.  Quite the opposite of the university lifestyle I got used to living.. lol

DH and I are 28 and 31 years old, and have been together for almost 10 years.  We have lived together for the last five, and have even owned two houses together.  So, i can't say that i am treated more grown up...   but there is a difference to it.  I feel like people see us more like a family perhaps....  i can't really put my finger on it.

I feel a little more "grown-up" for lack of a better word. I can't put my finger on it, but I know what you mean. I think the main difference is that people expect us to have children now. Whereas before, in our case, people would have assumed it to be an accident.

Nope ... I demanded respect before and still demand the same respect.  The only thing that "felt" different for DH and I was wearing more jewelery

We always did too, I don't think respect is the right word......like I said I can't put my finger on it
