Everything I would say has already been said. I hope you get the answer you are looking for, be it a BFP or a BFN.
Take care of yourself and don't let the comments of some people get you down.

Beegees (6/23/2008) I've heard that a woman can "tell" if she is or not....and I can honestly say that I don't think I am, however what's making me doubt myself is the fact that I'm not getting more of the discharge that normally comes before aunt flo's visit... HELP!!!!!!!!!!! And again, sorry for TMIOK, this may not be super reassuring, but... Some women can indeed "tell" that they're pregnant, but many women can't. Many still don't feel pregnant for several weeks after it's been confirmed. Like MrsM said though, you're really only a couple of days late. If you're really not ready to find out, waiting another couple of days to do an HPT won't hurt anything. It may help to set your mind at ease, but it may also force you to deal with the outcome should you get a positive. (And you never know, you may just end up being a week late.) As long as you're taking care of yourself in the meantime "just in case" (ie. no alcohol, smoking, etc.), and make sure you're getting some folic acid (which is a good idea for all women of "child-bearing" age anyway), it's really not going to matter if you test now or in a couple of days. Good luck - either way, even though it might be scary, it sounds like you can deal with the outcome. I agree with the above highlighted! And TEST already you are driving us crazy!! TEST TEST TEST!!! I don't smoke, and I barely drink so I'm ok there...only thing is this morning I had a coffee without even thinking! I didn't drink the whole thing but still. May sound like a stupid question - but what is folic acid and how does it help? See!! I'm not fit to be a mother yet...I have NO idea what this stuff is... DH is going to bring a test home tonight...so i'll take it when he's here. I'm too much of a chicken to do it on my own... stupid I know.

Folic Acid is important because it prevents neural tube defects- like spina bifida (sp?). It's actually found in a lot of foods that people eat every day. You should totally be taking a prenatal vitamin even if you aren't actively TTC. http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/fa-af/index-eng.php http://www.bchealthguide.org/healthfiles/hfile38c.stm
And you usually want to test first thing in the morning because that is when your urine is most concentrated and the pregnancy hormone is easier to detect. I was chicken to take the test on my own as well, DH was outside the door waiting... I didn't want him to see me pee!
And you'll be a great Mom, whether it happens now or later. Not everyone knows everything about pregnancy! We are all learning here...

| Folic acid is important, so you should go to a drug store and purchase a prenatal vitamin and it is a multivitamin for pregnant or planning to become pregnant ladies. It will have folic acid in it. If you don't know which to pick out then ask the pharmacist.

I just wanted to wish you luck- either way the test comes out. I am a firm believer in the fact that children are given to you for a reason- and that even if you don't think you are ready, most people will find a way to be ready. Let us know how things go!
