*That she who pays gets to decide.

Oh yes...

It really sucks when "she" is not the bride!

I wish I had known that people wouldn't seem to care.  My family hasn't shown any interest, people don't act excited, we've received two engagement cards (both from friends at church), and it just generally seems to be off everyone's radar

I know we're doing it for ourselves, but I'm a bit bummed about the lack of excitement.

Getting married in Ottawa... sometime in 2010...

When you meet someone who can cook and do housework,

don't hesitate a minute - marry him!

FH will not do anything even if he says he wants to be involved. Plan to do everything yourself.

What are the things you wish you had known before planning your wedding?

I wish I had known that a wedding doesn't magically make everyone one big happy family. I didn't even realise that was one of my expectations, but once the <bleep> hit the fan I didn't recover until about four weeks after the wedding.

Ooh, and I wish I had known that some people will judge you harshly if their thank you cards don't arrive within four weeks...

That we would get so many negative responses/people wouldn't bother responding... I wouldn't have bothered planning all this for people who don't even care.

Ditto x10000. Only 26% of our original guest list is coming. We frantically have had to invite a bunch more people just to attempt to come closer to our guaranteed number. We may end up pulling people off of the street

If I may vent for a minute... I can't believe some of the excuses. We sent out save the dates with Christmas cards AND verbally chatted with most last summer. It's getting really hard not to take it personally.

My FH and I were going through the list to make calls to delinquent people that c
