| My middle name has no family significance it just sounded nice with my first name (my Mom says) I am going to take DH's last name and (socially) go by just my first and last however, I dont want to loose my maiden name altogether. .... So I thought about hyphenating my middle name but this just looks like my last name is hyphenated and could cause problems. I have no real attachment to my middle name and dont use it so why not just get rid of it all together and replace it with my maiden name? Im sorry if I am rambling but as you women know this is a big step in life and a BIG change... I asked my Mom and she said it wouldn't bother her if I got rid of my given middle name and that she thinks my Father would be happier if I kept my maiden name in there instead of my middle name. My maiden name has 4 letters and so does my new last name along with my middle name as well so it wouldnt change the length at all. Also, when I think about middle names they should have some significant family tie or hold some value to the parents (IMO) Sigh, I just dont know what to do. Any thoughts or opinions?
CelticGhal (6/25/2008) I asked this a few weeks ago. Here is what I found out http://forums.canadianbride.com/Topic401301-11-1.aspx#bm407948
Thanks, I did see your post but I am looking more for opinions and thoughts or if anyone else has done this. I already know the process of 'how' to change it though ( I work in the same office as a vital doc's dept.)

Couldn't you just have 2 middle names? I know lots of people who were given 2 middle names at birth.

I've been tossing this idea around in my head as well. My last name is also Ukrainian, but it's so unique! And to be honest, it sounds better with my first name than FH's last name! But I would like to take FH's last name cause I'm a little traditional that way, so I've just decided to hyphanate. Yeah, it's longer.. but it makes me feel important having a longer name! hehe

| So I have decided to keep them all but now i have two middle names. On my drivers license it looks like this: DHNAME, Firstname Middle Maiden However, when I changed it at the bank, on bills etc I just told them my new last name.
