| Hello! First all of you who have commented on a previous thread about us, thank you for all your prayers and congrats. Jaxon is getting stronger each day and I know all your posative thought are helping him to gorw stronger each day. On Monday June 16 we went to the surgeon who was going to be performing my sceduled C-section. We booked it for July 25. Everything was well at the appointment, so he told me to just see my regular Dr. until my next appointment with him on July 4. On June 19 I stopped by my Dr. office to see if he wanted to see me again before teh 4th and he said no, I'm doing good, so unless there is an issue I'd be fine until then. I agreed. On Friday june 20 I was enjoying a relaxing day of cross-stiching and watching Little House On the Prairie DVD's when all of the sudden I felt this wierd "popping" sensation in my lower belly. Than I had a little squirt of liquid and figured baby had kicked my bladder and I had let some urine go, so I stood up to go tothe bathroom and gush my water broke. I ran to the bathroom and checksed and sure enough I saw my plug and my pants were soaked. I still wasn't sure it was my water braking as I was only 34 weeks. I called my husband (Wolf) at work, but he didn't answer his page right away. I was running around the house getting changed, brushing my teeth and hair and grabbing what ever I thought I might need if this was teh real thing. I only took the diaper bag, which was mostly ready with his supplies and my pillow. I called Wolf's work againand told teh lady who answered "It's Brenda. Wolf didn't answer his page. Please tell him my water broke and I'm on my way to get him." When she went and told him that he thought she was joking and then he realized she wasn't and went into panic mood himself. On my way to his work, about a 5 minute drive, I hit every light red! I called my mom as well and asked what your water breaking felt like and told her what happened. She said that's it and to get to the hospital ASAP. She called my Dad at work and they came down. (they live about 1.5 hours away) Picked up Wolf who was pacing outside his work for me. He drove tot eh hospital which is again about 5 minutes from his work. My water broke at 10:15 and at 10:24 we were at the emergency parking lot and my contracts started. We could not find a parking space, so Wolf dropped me off at teh doors and went to find someplace to park. I went in and was admitted to labour and delivery right away. Wolf was back with my quickly and by the time he wheeled me to the 3rd floor my contractiosn were coming every 2 -3 minute. They really hurt! I had front and back labour. Add to the stress of delivering early I was in a lot of pain physically and emotionally. My Dr. came in and said that he wanted me to deliver vaginally as teh stress of a vaginal birth would help to mature the baby. I told him if he wanted me to chew off my own arm b/c that would help the baby I would. So the anastesiologist was called, and I must say I love him!, I got my epidural and the pain went away! I was able to experiance the labour. And as I hadn't taken any labour prep classes and skipped those chapters in my book I needed help. My nurses were great! At 5:00 my Dr. came in and said "let's just check to see how far you are" (the epidural had slowed my contractions down, and I had been checked before they gave it to me and was 3 cm, this was about noon) Dr. checked me and said very surprised "there is no cervex. You are completely dialated and I am completely delighted." So the show began! All I knew about puching was from watching "A baby story" on TLC. So the nurses told me how to breath and push and I kept thinking what I had heard on the show. I pushed for 1 hour, maybe 20 - 25 pushing in total and my baby boy was born! Even though I had the epidural I could still feel him coming out and it was a wonderful experiance. Wolf watched him be born, although he hadn't been sure he wanted to and he is so happy he did! Jaxon had some problems breathing, so they had to put in a breathing tube. He was very touch and go at teh begingin I guess, but they never told us that, which I am greatful for. When we saw him an hour later he was doing very good! The tube stayed in for less than 24 hours. Then he was put in a breathing bubble for a few hours and then nothing & he's been breathing like a champ since! He has a tube for feed, but as of yesterday he is only being tube feed in evening when he is too sleepy to bottle or breastfeed. He took my breast last night and latched and feed for the first time! He took 41ml by bottle at his 5:00 am feed this AM. Here are some pics! Sorry if there are alot of typo's I'm typing very fast b/c I have to leave for the hospital. One hour after birth
