We will TTC during our honeymoon which will be in about 2 weeks (hopefully something will come out of it hehe). Okay my first question is ... is it ok to dye ur hair while ur pregnant? I heard it's not healthy for the baby, is it true? ...and the second question is ... can you go to the dentist while pregnant for any type of reason? I'd appreciate your input! Thanks ladies!

Check ups at the dentist are actually reccommended. But to fill a cavity - the dentist may decide to wait. I had a cavity and I had it filled after my lo was born.

| First off.... congrats!!! the wedding is so close, and the excitment contines after with TTC!! that is wonderful! If you used dyes which are vegetable based it is my understanding that those are okay. Also, i was watching "the mom show" the other morning (i am loser... no babies yet and i am watching that..lol) and dr dave said that highlights were also safe, but no bleeching or all over lightening. However, i could be wrong... it would not be the first time.

Yes you can dye your hair the only thing that I would be worried about would be the fumes but yes it is safe to dye your hair. Both my hair dresser and OBYN told me it was ok. Also you should visit your dentist at least once while you are pregnant. Also you have to take special care for your teeth while pregnant because we are suseptible (Sp) to gum diesease during this time. But as it was already recommended I would not have any extra work done but your dentist will know what is safe. Hope this helps.... I also have a cavity that needs to be filled but I will have to wait until the baby is born... oh darn

| You may want to do your own research when it comes to dying your hair because, as many (many many) other issues, there are 2 camps. I have read that if you dye your hair, then provide a urine sample they would be able to tell that you dyed your hair, so it would look as though the chemicals are somehow absorbed into your system. Whether or not it affects the baby is debatable because of cours nobody wants to test dye on a fetus! There are also hairdressers who have products containing no amonia, and there's always Henna. Most people I've talked to simply tried to avoid coloring or dying their hair in the first trimester. Good luck... and baby dust to you and DH

My mother in law is a hair dresser, so I asked her if it was safe to dye your hair while pregnant. She said it was fine and gave me highlights this past weekend. As long as there is proper ventilation, it should be fine.

I dyed my hair after the first trimester and actually just got it done again yesterday! I went to the dentist at around 6.5 months pregnant for my regular checkup and cleaning and it felt great. Just no x-rays and you are fine!
