Raphaëlle is now 5 weeks old and she loves to sit in her swing. The problem is that this swing was given to us by DH's cousin who had 3 kids so it's not new and very noisy. The mechanism is also agonizing and sometimes it stops by itself... since she likes it so much, I want to get her a brand new one. we live in a condo and I find that they are all pretty big. The one she has now can be used to rock the baby back-front and right-left. So far she seems to like it right-left so I would be tempted to buy the same kind of swing but new.
Your comments on your swings???

This is the swing that we have for our lo.

We got it at Toys R Us and he absolutely loves it.  The reason we chose this swing is b/c the chair is removable and you can use it as a bouncer.  This comes in handy for me especially when I need to take a shower.  If my lo falls asleep in the swing, I can just bring the chair with me wherever I go.

Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life,

love gives us a fairytale.

I like that... very good argument! I like the idea of not waking up the baby.

I already have a bouncing chair/carrier but I keep moving it from room to another when I need it so another one would actually be useful.

i had a "take along" swing for my older daughter-it's small and folds up for travel-i got it from sears and i had a small living room and it fit well. i wish i still had it as my living room is small in this house and the one i have takes alot of space but Trinity loves it! i think they still sell the smaller swing at sears. it is around $100.

I haven't had my baby yet so I can't tell you if he likes his swing but I sure do. I wish i could sit in it. It's the Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center.

It's got all kinds of features including one for an MP3 plug in. And speaking of Plug in it doesn't run on batteries but rather it plugs into the wall which was a big selling feature for me. I'd hate to run out of batteries when baby decides he wants to swing.

I registered and rec'd the Boppy Rock in Comfort travel swing that folds up and out of sight when not in use

but then DH's grandmother went out and bought us the Graco Sweetpeace thing that Chrissy posted that has the foorprint of a 70's armchair! LOL

So much for wanting to save space.

That's a great feature! I didn't know they made swings that you can plug instead of using only batteries. This is going to be more complicated than I thought...
