I'm the MOH for my best buds wedding next August & we're looking @ venues for a small reception and a photog that isn't too expensive plus catering ... does anyone have any good vendors in the Saskatoon area?

Also, I was thinking of maybe looking into a studen photog from the University (someone in they're last year, and looking to get shots for they're portfolio). Has anyone done this? I thought it'd be a good thing for the student & low cost for my friend.

Any help is apprecaited. Thanks

hello

caterering - Grasswood Park Caterering.... we are getting their biggest package and it's only $15/plate... best i've seen.

http://gpcatering.com/

venue - depends on the style you would like... you can get into the forrestry farm (ceremony spot available too) there's the red barn at the willows golf course... there's the sutherland hall in sutherland (right on central) there's the berry barn (just slightly out of town), the army & Navy hall downtown, the albert community centre (the top floor), the odeon, the western development museum.... there are so many to choose from... just depends on what you want.... also, there are small rooms in most hotels.  but this site has a bunch of helpful links... i wish i would have found it before!!

as for photography... can't help you there, that was the one place i decided to splurg... ours is costing $2200.  but i did take some classes in the photography department and i remember seeing flyers up there asking for students to be their photographer for their wedding.  some may even do it for free if they can use the pictures in their portfolio!! i'd make sure that if you go that way, you get your advertisment up at the beginning of the school year!!

heres another site...

You are GREAT!! I'm going to visit my best friend on August 2nd (flying out for a week) and we're going to do a LOT of wedding planning/booking, etc!! This will really help her as she wants to be under $5,000 total. She isn't having a big wedding either so at $15/plate ... OMG, that'll save a TON of money. I'm forwarding her this link. Thanks
