I have to agree that the "isle" thing was driving me a little bonkers too, only because I took copy-editing in school and always want to go in and EDIT! I'm totally guilty of the "..." syndrome though... (see there I go) just because it feels more natural that way...

I have to say that i don't really mind.  I am sure that i make mistakes all the time, maybe in every post i make. A mistaken spelling is not that big a deal to me.  I understand what the person means and that is what matters when i am reading what a fellow CBer wrote.

Yes but the spelling mistakes tend to distract from what's actually being said...it also makes the person posting come across as less intelligent, even though plenty of brilliant people are horrible spellers.

"I seen" is like nails on a chalkboard to me...it brings the validity of what somebody's saying down a few notches because it makes them sound stupid!

I SAW I SAW I SAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL - this thread cracked me up.  It reminded me of a little peeve, posters who use two periods at the end of EVERY sentence. Or never use a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence. LOL.  We ALL make mistakes in our posts, just some are known for it in EVERY post.   Drives me bonkers.

LOL, do you mean me?  I am definitely prone to do the "..." thing.  I think its because I type in a very stream-of-conciousness sort of way.  I never thought about it bothering someone though, so I'll try to keep it in check a bit more

ahh, I do the smae think all the time.............

hahahaha... j/k!!!  (but seriously, me and the dots... see? it just comes naturally)  Of course, I usually reserve it for msn/FB/CB, and out of work e-mails.  Actually I just finished writing my thank you notes for my shower and had to stop myself from using the '...' and the 'lol'!
