I have no issue with the ellipses (...) either.

And really, no big issues with spelling or grammar, except when it's so bad that it's hard to read.

But I'll be honest that the aisle/isle one irked me too   I know, it shouldn't, it's not a big deal, but it does.

she's not talking about ellipses...she's talking about this one poster who puts two periods at the end of every sentence! i forget who it is but it drives me nuts too!

No, I know.  A lot of other people had started talking about them, and then other people said they did it, and then she clarified that she didn't mean those, so I was just adding that I also was okay with those.

Wow, that seems confusing when I type it out.  LOL

Me personally it doesn't matter.....I know what it means, whether its isle or aisle.....

btw....beccak, everytime I see your profile pic, you remind me of Ricki Lake.

Soooooooooooooo many people have told me that I look like Ricki Lake. I live in Victoria and years ago I was waiting in line (in the rain) to get into a club. This guys walks by and says, "Hey! Your Ricki Lake!!" I said no. He didn't believe me! I had to finally say, "If I was Ricki Lake would I be standing in the rain to get into this club??" He still didn't believe me.

LOL!!!!!

Wow, I have to say that as a "Newfie" i say almost everything that you girls find annoying.  Plus, we could add i loves, i wants, and i needs to the mix along with a million other words and terms.  I am proud of my accent and my dialect... and don't think that it makes me look less smart.  I love the distinction that i have from others.   I never realized that people cared about things like that.

and i use this (...) in almost every post and i am sure after most sentences.  Sorry to those that it bothers, but like my accent it is probably not going to change. I is what I is, i Guess...lol

LOL - this thread cracked me up.  It reminded me of a little peeve, posters who use two periods at the end of EVERY sentence. Or never use a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence. LOL.  We ALL make mistakes in our posts, just some are known for it in EVERY post.   Drives me bonkers.

My mom always puts,,, instead of ... and it drives me nutz!

Must be a small town Ontario thing. They say "I seen", "Yous guys", etc.

HAHA! My DH escaped this (he moved to the 'big' city). But all his relatives from small town Ontario (maybe the same area?) say "Yous guys" "How yous doin'?" and "What'll ya have?". Since when is Ontario North Dakota?

*shudder*

What part of Ontario is your DH from? Mine is from Honey Harbour (Muskokas). It really gets on my nerves when they says "yous"!!!

Grey County I think it's called. Near Hanover, Mount Forest, Palmerston. Just south of Georgian Bay area? Thank-God he got out of there early!

Yous. That's not a word!

I live in Grey County and I speak normal .  I did live in Palmerston for a few years and it DRIVES ME CRAZY when people refer to it as "Pamerston".  **Shudders**
