hi all, this may be TMI but I just need to know I'm not alone (or that I am and need to see a doc)

I am about 4.5 months along and lately my breasts seem to be turning funny colours   I've been noticing red and purple marks on them almost like blood vessels are popping just under the skin or something like that   they don't hurt and I haven't had a huge growth spurt (obviously they have grown a little and are definately fuller but I'm still wearing the same bra I did 4 months ago albeit its tighter and getting close to needing a new one).  Also, I'm pretty sure it is not stretch marks.

did anyone else get this?  will it go away? do you think something is wrong in there?

That's totally normal!  You're carrying alot more blood and your boobs are filling up with colostrum, etc. and getting ready for le bebeh!

ETA:  Mine didn't grow at all until Rachael was born ... and let me tell you ... they are HUGE more that my milk's come in! LOL

It could be blood vessles like you said. I know my chest is like a road map right now. When your pregnant your blood volumn increases A TON- which is why you can see your vessles easier. Maybe just check with your doctor at your next appointment-?! Ease your mind.

yeah I've got major road map chest gonig on but this isn't veins - it's deep red or purple splotches (almost at my nipple) and its way worse on the left than the right

OMG I just google imaged stretch marks on breasts from pregnancy and that is totally what it is!!!!!   eww this is horrible - I haven't even grown much!!  I'm still wearing my same bra as before - how awful are they going to look when my milk comes in and they grow even more   I'm sorry I know this is "normal" but now I just feel ugly and need time for it to sink in...

Don't worry about it!  They won't necessarily get worse.  I've heard mixed.  Some people get them when pregnant and some when the milk comes in.

They will fade to a whitish silver.  Just think that this is their purpose.  Breastfeeding is such an amazing thing.  I would never, ever trade breastfeeding for "perfect" boobs.  It's what they were designed for.  I know it's all hard to take in but it's so utterly absolutely worth it!!!!!!!!
