| So 3 months, ago Dh, and I, and our son moved in with my mother..... she had bought a new house, and couldnt really afford it, she had to have the new furniture, new tv, new dishes and such. We where okay with this, because im going to school until novemeber and we figured could save us some money, so that we could continue the game plan to buy a new house in March 2009..... Well i never anticipated that it would all go to hell.. we have to deal with her crazy drug addict boyfriend who for the most part is nice, but when he is high becomes severally perinoid and goes through our things, and checks in cupboards for my mothers hidden boyfriends. Well I came home to my sons room ramsaced and all of his clothing cut into peices... I was FURIOUS my son wears pretty expensive clothing old navy, gap, etc... SO i called the cops.... and told him to get the fudge out..... My mother let him in when we all went to bed... and when i comfronted her about it.. She said oh he is really sorry... and he is no longer high..... ... Two days later, i found a large amount of pot behind her toilet, and she told me it was hers.... so we are moving friday, to a condo that we found... She is furious with me, and refuses to have the bridal shower for me... everything is really bad.. have a made the right choice to move?

Oh my You totally did the right thing by deciding to move out! When you have kids, your first priority is to them and their safety. Having someone unstable like that around him is NOT okay and I'm saddened that your mom doesn't see that I mean really... who thinks it's okay to cut up a kid's clothes?!?!? Regardless of whether they were expensive or not, that's just plain unacceptable. Of course, this is JMO, but you totally have my support and understanding

I'm not sure why you are even questioning it.....YES YOU MADE THE RIGHT MOVE! Drugs around adults but especially children is not normal/good/healthy. Think about your safety as well as your family's. Sounds like your mom has no self-esteem/confidence and will put up with that crap. Sorry to sound so harsh but it's reality. My heart goes out to you but you are definitely making the right move AND the last thing on my mind would be whether or not my mother would be giving me a shower.

Hell yeah you made the right choice!!!!!!! Your child's safety is your number one priority........this guy could do almost anything! What the hell is your Mom doing with that loser? She should kick him to the curb with the rest of the garbage.
