| Anyone else have issues with people RSVPing yes to the wedding, then cancelling a couple days before?? My cousin RSVP'd yes (plus an uninvited guest, I might add) and then said "oops, can't make it - can't afford the bus down" . I understand money issues, but you had the issues when you RSVPd, you should have said NO. Now I have a table with 2 empty seats AND I'm paying for you, even though you're not coming. Family is the WORST!!! I even had someone REQUEST a table (must be near this person, seated with this person etc etc) and then tell me "Sorry, it's too stressful, can only come to the ceremony.. THANKS now I have ANOTHER empty spot with a plate I'm paying for. COME ON PEOPLE.

Moved into our first home July 25th, 2008! Got married on August 23rd, 2008 in New Brunswick!  BEST. PARTY. EVER.
Now just renovating the house.

That sucks  Have these people planned weddings themselves? Cause truly, I had no idea how much I didn't know when I came to these boards. I just had NO idea about wedding stuff. I think people who haven't been through it don't have any grasp on how serious things are to brides, you know?

Yes, I had this problem as well. 3 people cancelled at the last minute. Thankfully we were able to fill 2 of the seats. However, 3 people didn't show up. For one couple they were very sick the other person I knew would do this and I even considered no counting but I did so we paid for that plate. I was not to impressed with that one especially considering we never even received a phone call, email, nothing saying sorry and congratulations. I also had 2 other guests who rsvp'd yes and then weren't sure if they were coming and said "it may be one, it may be both, it may be neither" we of course called and explained the situation and that we needed to know exactly who was coming. One ended up cancelling but it worked out fine because it was before I put my numbers in. So in total I had 8 people who cancelled or didn't show up.

Yup my cousin's date wasn't able to come due to an exam... don't the exam schedules come out before the exam!? And DH's dad had surgery and he wasn't healing very well... so I guess that can't be helped, but he didn't even call DH after the wedding or send a card or anything!

| I rsvp'd to my friend's wedding but was having some health issues the month before so I called her and told her that I would only be able to attend the ceremony. She hadn't confirmed her numbers yet so she was able to switch it without paying. Of course I did send her a card with a gift inside that would have covered the plate. We had about three people who rsvp'd yes and then couldn't stay for the reception. One couple it was a family emergency and the other girl just didn't show.
