I can understand ur frustration! COMPLETELY

I had a few friends ASK ME if they could come to the wedding, so being the nice person that I am I said of course!

so i don't recieve an RSVP back from them, particularily this one girl, so I sent a message over facebook just asking her what she has been up to and letting her know that I didn't recieve that RSVP and was wondering if she was coming...

she writes me back,"sorry but I am moving into my apt that same day and I will not be able to attend" ok fine, whatever, nothing I can do... yes I am a little pissed bcuz u had ASKED ME to come, but I had a feeling she would bail anyway... so I write her back

"ok, thanks for letting me know"

well she writes me back.... "k well sorry that ur mad, but there is nothing I can do about it!!"

I was stunned.. all I said was "ok, thanks for letting me know"...

So I dunno, there is always going to be someone or people who will do that... perhaps it's because some ppl don't realy realize what you go through or pay for to put such a big even together

I hope u don't get anymore of those, especially since ur day is so close!

Take Care!

this happened to me as well.

thankfully i was able to make adjustments up until the thursday before our saturday weddding.

however we still have 11 ppl who didnt show up... that said they would.

that was a nice $1100 down the drain.

I have the perfect family!!!!

It's not even that, the table seating arrangements are all done... so now instead of a table of 7, I've got a table of 5... kind of stupid.

UGH.

We did it, and it was everything I imagined it would be!

This might not be appreciated by the caterors but being that I have planned functions and cooked meals for large functions it is easier to add someone then take it away. So when I give my numbers if I have 98 people say yes they are coming I am only telling the caterors 94 and then the day before add 4 more. I have the table seating charts and will know who is to sit where. The day before I know if the people are coming as it is out of town so anyone who will be there will be there friday night. We also only invited very close family and friends so if they say they are coming they are coming. I also know with my caterors because it is at a resort type thing with a hotel they are good at adding people last minute. HOpefully if anything there will only be 1 or 2 people who do not show.

That's a good point!  They generally make enough for 5 or so extra plates anyway, don't they?
