I was wondering what car seats you all use and what you like and dislike about them?

We currently have the Evenflo Embrace Infant Car Seat.
We are looking at buying a new seat (probably a 3-in-1) since our daughter is getting too big for hers. She is only 2 months old but the straps are at the highest holes already and I think she won't fit in the seat much longer.
The following are my issues with the seat
- the handle... I dont know how to describe it but its the one that goes up then forward and then down (does that make any sense?). It seemed like a good idea like it would be easier to carry, but I have a very hard time carrying it with dd in the seat. Its awkward to hold with her in it and I end up just looping my arm around the handle instead.
- recline... when you position the seat so that the level indicator reads level, the seat is sitting up way too straight!! At first I thought that maybe this was normal, but everytime we were in the car dh or I would have to hold her head up for her. We then adjusted the seat so that it sat back more (but its now not level)
- strap levels... there are 3 levels to move the shoulder straps up to, but as I mentioned above dd is only 2 months old and she is on the top level already with very little room left for growth.

Looking forward to hearing your car seat experiences!

i have a Graco Alano Travel system -in pink!!

i like it-not to hard to carry and the handle has 3 settings-fully up, 3/4 up and fully down. it has a snap in head rest and i haven't had to move the straps yet-just loosen them or tighten them depending on what she is wearing(hot/cool outside)

I have a tall girl too, and at 4 months she pushes her feet on the back of the seat Right now she's in the Peg Perego SIP baby seat... but I'm debating between the Britax Marathon or Sunshine Kids Radian Premier.

Everyone raves at how comfy the Britax seat is, but it's on sale at toys r' us and I felt it to check it out. I didn't like the thin padding on the sides, if you hit it hard you'd hurt yourself. Not comfy IMO. The radian folds up for travelling, is slimmer so you can fit 3 across in a bench seat, and it's slightly taller than the Marathon.

Too many + or - to list...it's so hard to choose! Reading so many reviews and trying to make a decision.

ETA: If I'm spending $300+, I expect great features and comfort, she better feel like she's in a La-Z-boy, not sitting on a plastic garden chair.

We have an Eddie Bauer 3in1 for baby number 3 (due next month). We decided to skip out on the travel system infant carriers this time around, mainly because I felt safer having her in the larger 3in1s.

For our boys...aged 4 (almost 5) and 2.5, they have the brand new Compass True Fits.

My almost 4 year old is 42" tall and 43lbs and was in a regular booster for a few months until the Compass seats were released in Canada a few weeks ago. He was too tall for the britax seats...they didn't fit him properly

After spending countless days researching the safety of each seat, I am more than thrilled with our purchase of the Compass seats! He is a BIG (tall), slender kid, and now he can be as safe as his brother strapped into his 5 point harness! Hopefully he can stay there for a while to come! I will cry the day I have to move him to a booster...they are not nearly as safe as the 5 point harness seats.

As for baby number 3, she will stay rear facing for as long as possible in her 3in1. Hopefully until she is at least 2 years old. With my boys, I was excited to move them to forward facing, but I honestly hadn't done the research that I have now.

The compass seats are the latest technology and have the five point harness for so much longer like the britax and sunshine! So well worth the $199 (super cheap if you ask me). Another added bonus is that you can take off the seat cover to clean it without having to take the straps out. The staps are also adjustable with the push of two buttons!

We did it After 7 years, we finally made it official Such an amazing evening!

We have the Britax Marathon and my son really seems to like it!  It's tall, so he can see out and he loves to rub his feet up and down the seat back.  I just took him on a long car ride this past Monday and we didn't hear a peep out of him for most of the trip - so it must be comfy!

We had a Peg Perego infant carrier for when our lo was born but he started to get uncomfortable in it around 5 or 6 months.  I think it was just too small and confining a space for him.

After much research we decided to get him a new car seat and we purchased the Britax Marathon and so far our lo loves it and appears very comfortable in the seat.  It is alot of $ upfront but from what I have read, children can stay in the convertible car seats the longest (as opposed to something like a 3 in 1 car seat).

The only downfall to this seat is the size.  It is really large.  We have an SUV and had to move the front seat up all the way to allow enough space to properly install the car seat rear facing and it does take up space in the back as well.  But it is definitely worth it to me since my lo is comfy and Safe in it!
