| Hang in there girl. i am sure that things will soon work themselves out. although you are getting me to start thinking that i should be coming off soon as well in case i have the same expereince. It seems that this is more common then i would have thought. Just enjoy all the practice runs while your figuring things out... you never know you might get a surprise!! Sending good thoughts your way!!

AngMcQ (7/16/2008) I am right there with you, its so frustrating just waiting and wondering. The only thing that gets me through it is thinking some day I'll be sitting with my baby looking back and knowing it was all worth it.
How long are your cycles Ang?
they go anywhere from 26 days to 41 days.........fun eh!
Married the love of my life. Now Mrs. McQueen!
Now just waiting for baby!

| Hey ladies, thought I'd jump in here too! I went off the pill in January, and had my first ovulatory cycle last month. BUT, I still have long cycles. Last month I OVd on CD 25, and had a 37 day cycle. There was clear ovulation though, so that's all I care about! Currently I am on CD24, and am showing the same temp pattern as last cycle, so guess what we've been doing lately? LOL I wish I had thought to go off the pill sooner rather than later. I had NO idea it was going to take this long. But I'm glad I started temping, because I really feel like I'm doing something to help the situation. Good luck ladies! Hopefully I'll have good news to announce in about 2 weeks!

| Well I'm still on the pill for another month, but I'll definately come by here often. Before I started BCP, I was very irregular and sometimes long, 30-45 days. But that was 8 years ago, so now I don't know how my body will react. We want to start TTC in September and hopefully succeed the 1st or 2nd month, so lately I've been thinking that maybe I should stop the pills now, just in case it takes more time.

| I just wanted to provide you all with some info - I'm not a doctor - just someone with experience with really long delays to AF. for those of you with cycles where AF doesn't show up by CD 40, I'd recommend that you contact your doctor for an appointment, and ask for a medication called "Prometrium". It is used to bring on a period. I've been on this many times in the last 3 years of ttcing - and it works. After taking this medication, my periods have always started within 5 days of my last dose. My periods are 2 days of flow max. And my cycles seem to regulate to 30 day cycles. I just had another round of prometrium that began on June 17th for me after going 48 days without a period. My period began on July 1st, 5 days later. I know I mention this a lot, but I think it is important info to know for anyone who is having really long periods that there are ways to induce a period with medication. However, having said this, if you are not trying to conceive, my fertility doctor told me that it is really OK to go without having a period every month. She said that as long as your lining is shedding itself at least 4 times per year, everything is staying healthy in there. But if you are ttcing, and want to induce a period, then talk to your doctor about this medication or something similar and go from there. The longer you stress out about AF not coming, the longer she stays away. Stress is a major factor in the absence of AF. Even though we think we are relaxed about it, there's still a small part of our subconcious that thinks of it and hence, the delay continues. I'm not a doctor - I'm not trying to push meds on anyone. My intent isn't to offend anyone with my post - I just want to inform you that you can induce a period safely with 10 days of medication. Good luck to everyone still waiting for their AF to come!

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.
Making the decision to have a child-it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom.
To understand a mother's love, bear your own children.
Mother is the name for God on the lips& in the hearts of little children.
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.
Mrs. M and loving it!!!

Sending good thoughts your way!! Thanks for the support pumkin! Smurf and BPlusE - I am not sure what advice to give as to how to time when to get off bcp, but I have found from my internet surfing on this topic that it seems to be a much more common situation than I thought! There are many women out there going thru weird cycles after the pill, so MAYBE... to be on the safe side, I would recommend going off earlier? I wish I had... BUT, it's a personal decision, and every woman is different. My best friend had been on the pill for about 8 years and conceived her 2nd cycle off bcp. SOOOO, we can only know what our own situation will be once we experience it. It's one of those many "unknowns" when ttc. MrsM - thanks for the advice on Prometrium, I may keep it in mind for the future. I am hoping this AF comes sooner than the last one, but we'll see! Lizzard - thanks for all your help in letting me know you've gone through the same thing! ![]() | | | |
