JMO but if your "friend" is getting a HUGE 5k ring, it's probablt a really poor quality! With the price of gold now, 5k doesn't get much. My e-ring is 1.02 solitaire centre stone, two .10 side stones, FH paid close to 12k, I know becausse I picked it out! yeah....i'm gonna need to see your bling

i'm wearing my completely plain white gold wedding band and i love it!I can count the number of times I've worn my engagement ring since the wedding on one hand. I also like the look of the plain gold band alone on my finger! (I think my engagement ring was .3 carats. It was high quality, so pretty expensive - for us - but I succumb to a ring inferiority complex sometimes too!! sounds like your set looks a lot like mine...is it white gold or yellow? my rock is really good quality too...but no ones looking at it with a microscope  they just judge it on it's size! poor little rock

Now just renovating the house.
