I bought my wedding dress off of ebay, have seen some pretty expensive dresses in boutiques and some affordable.  What did you consider afforable vs way out there.

Almost married.  November 22nd.

People could you RSVP already???

my budget is 1500 before tax/alterations (not incld. veil/accessories).  The dress I am getting is 1130 before taxes, so that is well under budget

I didn't want to spend any more than $1000 including accessories, alterations and shoes. I bought my dress for $690 after taxes and it needs only very small alterations (that my aunt said she'd do!!) so I have $310 to spend on everything else.  I didn't even look at anything that was over $1000.

I think my original budget for the dress was $800, but I was scared of actually spending that much.

I bought my dress for about $280, and alterations were $100. Way under budget, thank goodness!!

So far, my dress has cost $380 after taxes and alterations.  I may try to get the bust line cut a bit lower to get a sexier look, but I can't see that costing more than $100 in alterations...so under $500.  Mind you, it IS a BM dress, but it's white, and it looks like a wedding dress-at least I think so!

I never really went into the whole dress buying experience with any kind of budget.  I knew I wanted something plain and simple, and the types of dresses that cost $1000+ wouldn't appeal to me at all, though the saleswomen tried so hard to convince me otherwise!

I  didn't have a budget per se but I really didn't want to spend more than 700. Mine ended up costing 754 with taxes. I don't think it will need alterations or very little anyway because I ordered it. Still need a veil and a tiara.
