All I can tell ya is I use MAC and it is worth every penny. IF you dont wear makeup on a daily basis then I can understand you not wanting to spend $500 for ONE day, BUT if you enjoy makeup like I do I recommend anyone slowly build up their collections to include MAC products.

I pick up stuff here and there, also you can get great ebay deals on genuine MAC products.

I like to be careful what I put on my face and Mac is the best of the best. I have now started using their facial care line as well and my skin has never looked so good, been so healthy and felt so soft!

I was just in a wedding party the other weekend, and the lady from Mac came to the house in the morning to do our make-up. she works in the Pickering Town Centre, you could always ask her if she could come to your house and do it. Her name is Michelle.

Thanks, but I'm in Winnipeg...does she travel?!?  Lol

I've heard Mary Kay is really good, I was speaking to a representative a few months ago...maybe I should go look for her card.

And the Body Shop, now that it's been brought up, is really good.  I have purchased some brushes and makeup there before, maybe I'll see if they've got a spot open the day of the wedding.  Although I think my morning is jam packed already.

Annnddd-I also called the MAC store in St Vital Mall here in Winnipeg-it's an actual store, not a kiosk in the Bay or anything, and they charge $55 for a makeup session, and this does NOT include any product.    At least in the Polo Park Bay kiosk, you get the cost in makeup.

Thanks again for all the input.  I was reading a post about 'Bride Brain' just now, and it's funny, I started thinking about makeup, and couldn't think of any other place but MAC and Shoppers/Walmart.  It's like one thing takes hold in my head, and all of a sudden there's no room for any other thought!!!

Oh, I don't doubt it's worth every penny, and more...all my friends rave about it!  It's just that I wear zero makeup on a daily basis (mascara and lip gloss when I go out), so I do have a super hard time justifying the cost.

However, I do want to go and get that brush deal they've got on now ($58 for 5 brushes), and now that I've purchased some powder and stuff, I can accept that cost for decent brushes.

And, I think after the wedding is over (and we're no longer paying for it), I'm going to go and check out that skin care line!
