My husband apparently had it really bad for about 2 weeks and my MIl said that the doctor told her to tape a quarter over it It must have worked cause he did not have to have surgery and he now has a nice innie belly button. My nephew also had this 3 years ago and his took about 1 month to correct itself. The doctor told her to just watch it and if it appeared to be causing him discomfort and was getting worse to bring him back in.

| My SIL had twins and I lived with them for 2 year after they were born. The one had this problem with their belly button.... It was so big that he used to hold on to it.. It was funny. If I remember correctly they said if it hadn't gone away by the time he was 1 that they would do surgery.. It went away I think just after he turned 1. This was 10 years ago so it could be different now.

My daughter had a herniated belly button. But it had gone down by her 2 month doctors appointment.
