Hi Ladies,
We aren't getting married until next August 22, but I am wondering how early people go about booking their honeymoons?  6 months or so?  I know that certain places like Flight Centre offer early booking rates so that's why I am asking!
Let me know!
Thanks

I don't have an answer for you, but I will be watching this thread, because we are almost date twins – we're only getting married on the Sunday instead of the Saturday because our venue offers 25% off on Sundays!
So I am curious to see what people say about how early in advance to book!

i booked mine in like january...i get married in november...only reason we did was because there was a sale going on......and wanted to take advantage of it......i WAS planning to book like last minute but.....because of the deal....we did it....i was afraid by the time i booked the sale would be gone......we ended up changing the resort so our money was transferable.....sooo...we did try and book early...i mean..we knew where we wanted to go...we know what we wanted...why not?

I'm not getting married until October 3rd 2009, about 14 months away, and we have our honeymoon booked! We knew what we wanted, spent a few weeks going back and forth on the details and booked it! This way we will have it paid off by the time of the wedding, and we have one less thing to worry about, making a final decision was hard! And I'm glad that that part is over and I will be able to enjoy my well in advance planned honeymoon!

I wasn't concerned about doing the last minute thing because we booked a cruise and the sooner you book the better, and I wanted a mid ship balcony suite, and would have been super sad if we wouldn't have been able to get the room we wanted.

Not everything gives you a better deal if you wait until last minute, expecially if you have something specific in mind it may not work out for you.

Our travel agent told us to not even bother waiting to book our flight until last minute, it's not always cheaper, and you dont always get a great deal, and she isnt booking our flight so it's not because she wants more money, lol. (no fee for our travel agent anyways)

We booked about a year before, booked flights about 9 months before. Gave us more time to pay for it

We booked last minute...as in three weeks before we left, lol!  We didn't have a specific place in mind so we waited to see what was available.  We ended up getting a fantastic deal through a friend of ours at Flight Centre because it was last minute.

we also booked about 3 or 4 weeks before the wedding, we didnt have any specific place in mind and we needed a package we can afford. anyway turned out great we ended up going to a wonderful 4.5 star resort in puerto plata, all inclusive for $1000 each (taxes included!) the price was reduced because it was a last-minute sale. I had a friend who booked a week and a half ahead and they went to punta cana for 700$ each!

Happily married July 29, 2007
