justina mccaffrey - downtown ottawa, on sussex
sinders - in carleton place, just outside of ottawa. Has TONS of selection, but I had a crappy customer service experience there. Wouldn't recommend them because of my experience, however I'm sure others have had better experiences there.
dominique levesque (appt recommended) 1300 carling ave. they have a large selection of designers.
hope that helps some.

| The Cedar Closet - has a BAD reputation for being really snobby.... lots of girls here hate it (myself included) I found my dress at Martino's bridal, so I'm biased.... lol - she even negotiated a bit with me! I also hated (personally, many other girls like it) All that glitters. I thought that the one at 1 nicholas (sherilyns) had good selection, and wasn't too fond of the dress selection at Kim Lynn's. Good luck!

| I actually liked the cedar closet. I also went to Layseing, and although a bit pushy, they have a good selection, and tgey make a lot of their dresses, so you can choose exactly how you want it. I first went Yen's bridal on s Saturday, and had the worst experience because of the guy who works there (the guy even told my friend her taste was out of style!). Then I went back during the day and only the owner was there and the store was empty. She was very nice and gave great advice.

I haven't gone anywhere yet, but I've heard good things about the Cedar Closet as well

| thanks for the advice! I went to Dominique Levesque today. I called to make an apointment for 1 PM and she told me it would be better if I came at 3 because then there would be two people there so one could help me if somebody else came in. I'm not sure why though because neither of them helped me and both just stayed at the front of the store talking to each other. I also noticed that 2 of the dresses I tried on last week in a store in Sudbury were almost twice the price at Dominique Levesque. I wonder if that's just a coincidence of if dresses are actually much cheaper in Nothern Ontario?

| No idea about regional price differences, but IMO, if you're dropping several hundred dollars on a dress, no one who gives you poor customer service deserves your business! Keep looking around if you're not feeling confident in them
