We have also booked our wedding for Melia Las Dunas. We've heard great things. I was wondering if anyone can give info . about the restaurants and which one is best .

When are you getting married, melbornais?  I haven't been there yet, so I don't know about the restaurants yet, but I can let you know when I get back after my wedding at the end of January!

Hi Melbornais

I haven't been to the Las Dunas yet, getting married there in March, but I've heard from the Canadian Melia wedding coordiantor who just returned from there, that the Italian restaurant is truly something spectacular!

Hope that helps!

We're getting married at MLD on January 21. We're having our reception dinner at the Italian restaurant. After that, I've arranged to have a private reception at a hall called "Sala Polivente" with a private bar and DJ. It's going to cost us 150cuc for the hall and DJ, and then 5cuc per person for the private bar (we've got 40 people coming).

I thought I'd let all you other MLD brides know about this because I had a heck of a time getting some sort of private function for our guests. My wedding coordinator in Toronto couldn't help me at all ... I finally arranged it through the wedding coordinator actually at the resort itself!

I think we're good to go now. I was told I have to pick my flowers and wedding location once we arrive. Is that what you're all hearing???

I was also told that we would pick our location once we were down there.  I want do have the wedding on the beach I think, but I gues it depends on what the weather is going to be like, and if it will be windy at all.

I havent really had much help from the wedding co-ordinator from Toronto!!  How did you contant the co-ordinator at the resort, and what is her name?

Did you need to give the one in TO a finalized guest/rooming list?

And what other ad-ons did you get?  I have requested the flowers for the wedding party, my make-up for the wedding day, and the live band.  (possibly others, but I can't remember now!)  My TO co-ordinator hasnt confirmed any of it however, and she hasnt returned my e-mails...

We want to have a dinner for our guests in one of the restaurants, but we aren't doing a private reception.
