I don't know about you, but when I was 18 and moved out on own my Grandmother bought me Ugly White Blender, the generic cheap real glass sort that never seem to break down.  I will find myself in the applicance section of stores looking longily at the ones that have a plastic bowl and come in beautiful designer colours or even just the $30.00 stainless steel jobby pc blender, but can't justify scraping a perfectly good blender just 'cause it ugly.

I think of all things that I can do to burn out the motor.

You know, "polishing" my DH's nuts and bolt collection with it.

Chopping up marbles

Accidently dropping it

Etc.

Wear a white wedding dress?  Why, are we bar hopping?

How about giving it to Goodwill or Salvation Army?

If a person with multiple personalities threatens suicide, is that considered a hostage situation?

That would be cheating, it was a gift and as result it is with me until it dies or I do.  Besides what do really use a blender more then a couple times a year?

I'm like that too Sid; if it is a gift I just can't get rid of it until it meets a natural death.  Keep it's ugliness in the cupboard and only take it out when you use it - that way it isn't sitting on the counter "mocking you".

I have a set of "wtf was he thinking vases" that my brother bought me.  They live in a box in the basement and I haul their ugliness out for display every time my brother comes, stupid I know - I should just say damn these are ugly.

I don't get that, I have no problems getting rid of crap I don't need regardless of how I got it.  I figure if I don't want it maybe someone else would.

So what did you do with your striped plates?

I'd totally forgotten about the striped plates!  What did you do with them?

On topic - we have a white blender...and we asked for a white one.  Or maybe it's the food processor that's white, I can't remember...anyways, could you spray paint it with the appliance paint that can be used on dishwashers?
