Just wanted to introduce myself to the board! I have been a "lurker" of this board for weeks as I was having technical difficulties posting. Everyone seems so incredibly helpful and supportive. On that note I wish I could have asked this question prior to signing a contract and putting down a deposit, but has anyone used treport banquet hall in etobicoke? what did you think?

I'm going to a wedding there next month.  My friend's sister got married there and I think that they had nothing but good things to say about it.

My brother got married there years ago....their food and service were excellent.  The only thing I didn't like (not sure if they've changed it since) was the interior of the banquet hall. They had that dark brick looking wall - that may have been modern at one point, I just found it too dark in the hall. Please keep in mind, that is only my opinion. What counts is the food and service and they were both exceptional!

I've been to three weddings there this summer (2 in large hall, 1 in a small hall) - I thought both halls were really nice (the larger hall was slightly dark but I thought the brick walls were fine).  The food is generally pretty good - I'f you're going to have the typical two meats - pick the grilled chicken over the breaded.  They  do a nice sweet table and will generally throw in some cheese/cold cut trays for no extra charge - nice for people that prefer more savory foods after drinking.  The layout of the halls is not the greatest as most of the tables are genrally quite removed from the head tables - but this is not a huge deal.  My biggest issue with this venue is that you will likely have 3-4 weddings/events happening on the same night and the walls are definitely not soundproof so don't be surpised to hear music from the other parties (annoying if it occurs during your speeches as was the case at one of the weddings I attended there).
