Has anyone tried to plan their wedding without FH involved? FH is in the military, and has been posted halfway across the country for months on a training course (miss him so much). He has only been home a few times. So besides being very lonely living alone in our home. I have had to do planning i.e booking venue, looking for photographers, cake, decor.... As if its not hard enough vendors always look at me as though I have some jerk FH who wont help. And just for an extra kick, all family members feel MORE entitled to their opinion in lieu of his.All very frustrating. Anybody else had this problem? Cant wait until he is back 2 more months!

My FH and I live together, so I can't relate to the being far away part... however he doesn't really like to get involved. He liked going to meet with vendors in the beginning, but now that its close and the only things left are little details, I get nothing. I hope you feel better about this, nobody likes to be alone!

| Now...my FH isn't working for the army or anything like that...but anytime I say 'wedding' to him, his eyes glaze over. now that we're les than 2 weeks away, he seems to have taken a major interest in everything. But up until this point, he hasn't wanted anything to do with the wedding...so everything I booked, everything I had done, he hadn't really even seen. I am still waiting for him to tell me something is wrong with what I've done...and when that happens...he will be kicked so hard his head will spin. hah. Good luck with everything!! I'm sure whatever you choose, your FH will love! it's pretty much the brides day anyways, right?

ME!!!
I so know how you feel. My fh is a naval officer and although we were together for the beginning of the planning (sadly just started in may for an october wedding) He had no real interest anyways - he wouldve been happier just going to city hall but I wanted the 'wedding'! Currently he is at sea and will be until 3 weeks before the wedding (10 week trip to the caribean the lucky b*******) so I have been making every big decision by myself and going to see all vendors alone. To make things more difficult we are planning to get married in ontario but live in halifax. So at first I was doing everything via email (had to pick a venue without seeing it).
It has at times been hard to get excited when he really doesnt care and has so little involvement, but i know things will be great on the day.
Thanksgiving weekend 2008 Im a MRS had a wonderful and fun day with our 110 guests

| Sorry to hear about you missing your FH. I live with mine and he has not participated in nothing. He has not seen the hall, flowers, decor, had no imput on the photographer or officiant - but he met the officiant last week for our meeting before the wedding. He will have met the wedding planner the day of the rehersal. I don't even think he actually saw the invitations I sent out. The only thing he did do was pick out his ring and come to the tux place to get measured, but I actually picked out the clothes. At least you have a reason why he has not been involved, mine just doesn't care he wanted to elope.
