What about St. Anne's Spa? It's within 2 hours of the city. I haven't actually been but my girlfriends went last winter and loved it. Apparently, there are outdoor hottubs that are just heavenly to sit in while you're surrounded by the snow of winter.

Do you like skiing? Would a stay at a ski resort be of interest to you? You could get a romantic room with a hot tub as well. Hmmm, I seem to be on a trend with the hottubs here.

What about getting a fallsview room in Niagara falls? That could be magical in the winter.

What kind of honeymoon were you thinking of? That might help us to give you ideas.

I did a bit more looking.

Apparently there's a romantic helicopter tour of niagara falls you can do in the winter: http://www.viator.com/tours/Ontario/Private-Romantic-Niagara-Falls-Helicopter-Flight/d263-2584WIN4

My google search turned up quite a few romantic lodge type places in Ontario.

Hope that helps...

I've been doing some searching myself for a romantic getaway for my FH and I for January for a few days. Here are some ideas:

- Niagara On The Lake

-The Couples Resort at Algonquin Park: http://www.couplesresort.ca/

-Ski Resorts - Horseshoe Valley, Blue Mountain

-Muskoka Area

I can't recommend a specific place, but I highly recommend getting a bed-and-breakfast somewhere!! My husband surprised me with a couple of nights in Canmore (near Calgary) once before we were married, and it was the most wonderful thing we have ever done together.

A friend from work never travels abroad. She and her partner always get the same B&B and go horse trekking for the weekend.

B&B!! I tell ya!

thanks girls!!  We wanted to go somewhere hot for our honeymoon but we didn't have anyone to watch the kids this summer so my mom said when she is on vacation in dec she would watch them.
Unfortunatly we can't seem to find anything that is cheap that we will be able to afford right now.  So I wanted to make sure we at least got away for a couple of days to ourselves.

My sister was suggesting vegas to us as well so we are looking into that as well.

Keep the ideas coming...I am open to anything and like your sugestions i will look into them and let you know what we decide.

I second Couple's resort.... I have heard great reviews... seems like a place even nicer to go to in the Winter... jacuzzi and fireplace in your cabin... lots of options so can go frugal or all out.

Marrying my love, on Sept 20/08... with our children at our side.
