So we finally booked our honeymoon!! We knew we weren't going to go right after the wedding (it was September and neither of us had any desire for a tropical vacation at the end of our summer), so we waited. We went to see an AMA travel agent in October, and she priced out a few different options for us in the area we were thinking of. Then we hit the web and noticed that many of the same trips only a few weeks away were *significantly* cheaper in price, so we decided to wait.

So last weekend we booked our trip, and essentially got it for half price! We were quoted $2700 per person + taxes, and we got the entire trip (same resort as quoted) for a TOTAL of $2721 (for both of us, including taxes).
We are totally thrilled, and if you can stand the wait, booking "last minute" is something I'd highly recommend.

So we are going to the H10 Hacienda Maya in the Mayan Riviera of Mexico for 1 week from Feb 3.
Resort's website: http://www.h10hotels.com/eng/riviera-maya-hotels/h10-hacienda-maya.php

I'm so excited!! I changed my countdown timer to count the time until we go... as I type it's 12 days, 11 hrs, 12 minutes and 20 seconds until the plane takes off (and if you do the math on that, it means that our planes leaves at 6am--gross, but worth it!).

*Happy Dance*

Just wanted to share,
Melissa

Yay fun!  That area is gorgeous.  We went to Cancun for our honeymoon, but made a few side trips to the Mayan.  I recommend Xcaret.  It's a huge activity park with lagoons and caves to swim in, an aquarium, butterfly conservatory, and an amazing music and dance show at the end of the night.  It's an all day affair though, so be prepared to get there around 10am and stay until 10pm.  Totally worth it!  Oh, and the buffet restaurants are crazy expensive - $30 US!  There's a little burger shack on the beach though and I believe that's much cheaper.

Have fun!
