How many days off work did everyone get for their honeymoon?

I just got hired full-time yesterday and was given 10 days off work (2 days off before the wedding, 1 day for the wedding day, and 7 days for the actual honeymoon). FH is a little pissed cuz I didn't get 2 weeks off because he wanted us to go to Cuba for 2 weeks, but I think it's still good. He's saying it's not worth going to Cuba anymore only for one week. He said he wants us to go on a road trip to the states to visit New York, Florida, Washington (I don't know if I'm gonna like that too much..) what do you girls think? What other options do we have?

In my opinion one week in Cuba is plenty of time.  I wouldnt want to go for two weeks - not all that much to do for that long and the food can get really old.

If I were to do a road trip - that is when I would want two weeks off.

Just my opinions though.  You will have fun whatever you do!

1 week is plenty.

we went to Punta cana and had a blast.  it doesnt got by fast at all.

I think for me 2 weeks would have been to long... by the end of the weeK I definitly missed my dd .

My last day of work was the tuesday before the weeding... (sat) those 3 days flew by... but the rest was smooth sailing.

 September 1st ....please hurry.

Did you tell them during your interview how much time you needed off?

They should honor whatever you told them if they still hired you!

I'm doing a week in Punta Cana, and that'llk be more than enough for FH and I

Word of caution on honeymoon roadtrips - my BM did that with her husband 2 years ago, and it was horrible for them.  All the stress built up over the wedding process was still there, and then they were cooped up in a car with each other, and they argued for the entire time.  she said it was the worst vacation they'd ever taken.  But, they're still together, so that's good!

I have been to Cuba for a week, if you are doing an all inclusive it is plenty because the 2nd week tends to repeat itself. If you just want to bum around the beach it is great, if you want to do day trips, 10 days would be better...it just means that you can take a shorter mini vacation later when you accummulate days off.  You should have told the new employer that you were already booked for longer, I had started a job once but already had vacation booked and they honoured it.

It's definitely worth it to go down there for a week... all of my all inclusive vacations have been a week long and it's plenty. Definitely enough time to have a nice, relaxing honeymoon.

We left for our DW on Saturday, Dec 29th at 10am and came home on Sunday, Jan 5th at 5am-ish... I worked the Friday before we left and the Monday after, so in total I took 4 days off since one of the days was a holiday (New Years Day). I didn't have a choice. They even wanted me to "reschedule" so that I could work the week we were gone. We would've liked a longer vacation because a lot of the week we were gone was taken up with wedding stuff. Had we not have had the wedding down there a week would've been good. Tell your fh to suck it up, a week down there is better than nothing at all! Plus, would you really want to be cooped up in a car for a roadtrip honeymoon?!

Did you mention the time off in your interview? If so and they already hired you then I'm sure they're fine with it. (if they're not my work, lol)
