Hi everyone, I'm looking for some centerpiece ideas from my June wedding. We're on a pretty tight budget, so real flowers are pretty much out of the question, and it's a daytime thing, so I'm not really sure I want to use candles. Does anyone have any ideas for something that i could make myself, preferably ahead of time if possible?

Walmart has some nice clear vases in any shape.. I found some med. size ones starting at 4.96 each. or you can go onto ebay or goggle for wholesale or bulk. anyways you can get a vase, put some stones on the bottom with some fake flowers or candles in it. with some votive candles around it. I dont know if you have a theme or not.. but if you do.. in corporate your theme with it. Or get some tall skinny vases and decorate it with some feathers, and flowers with some tealights on the tables.

Getting married to the love of my life... and the father of my beautiful little boy!!! YAY

So, are the flowers that are underwater in those vases real or fake, I wonder? The other day FH spotted a centerpiece like that and now wants ours to be the same.

my friend did orchids underwater.. she attached them to a rock with some wire and then put a candle on top!

I would definately do a trial first though to see how long it lasts and how long before the wedding you would be able to do it. I wouldnt want to do it too far in advance because the water would probaby become foggy-looking.  You also have to remember that fake/silk flowers would absorb the water and maybe not look as great. I've never done it personally, so i dont know, but I would give it a trial run before you order your flowers or make any decisions

thanks for adding the pics Ive been having a hard time thinking of centerpiece ideas that can be made by me, and are a bit more original. I do like the one in the big martini glass with the daisies

Thanks! Looks like I'll be taking a trip to michaels this weekend, to see what I can do

What I am thinking of doing is gathering a whole bunch of branches and spray painting them my colours (pink and brown) and putting them in a tall clear vase (from the dollar store-also on a tight budget) with a simple white picture frame with a wedding poem. Then surrounding the vase and frame with clear glass beads on the table. I will need to try a sample one and post a pic. I'm not exactly sure if this will look as good as I think it does in my head...
