FH wanted something very specific that I wasn't able to find anywhere either...I am getting his custom made. I got a quote to have it done (he wants white gold with a diamond on the inside of the band, not the outside), and it was $600. This is only because the price of gold is going through the roof right now. The diamond itself only costs $70, then $40 to set it...the rest is the cost of the gold! CRAZY!

You know whats funny...when we went to get mine custom made the jeweler made a comment about the price of gold skyrocketing right now....i always assume its just a sales tactic.....im such a pessimist!hahaha...soo...good to know that maybe he actually wasnt just "selling" to me!hahahaa..

Hey Guys,

We're getting our rings this weekend, we went to the wedding expo last weekend, met the George & Co folks, they have some beautiful designs, so my fh and I have decided on a matching pair that we saw on the weekend.  I know its kinda early but we're going in to order ours on Saturday.  Anyone in Toronto should check them.

My FH is stuck between a titanium (unscratchable) and the tungsten. But I think he prefers the dark colour of the tungsten. These were both at Mappins.

If you're going to go for tungsten, the best place to get them is on eBay.  I know it sounds weird, but there are only 2-3 manufacturers of tungsten rings in the world .. so anywhere you go, they're going to be from one of these few manufacturers.

I found them at Birks for $2500 .. then another jeweller close to us for $700 (I thought this was a bargain).  Found the self-same ring for $200 in the US, and then he found the EXACT SAME ring on eBay .. he could either buy 1 for $40, (yup, I'm not missing a zero there!) or could buy 10 of the same size for $200!  He went for the $40 option, thought it wasn't right to make money on his rings

He originally bought the wrong size (it was a 1/2 size too big), but heck .. for an extra $40 he has a ring that fits now and one in case he becomes very comfy in marital bliss

They're gorgeous rings .. I'd recommend tungsten.
