| Hi all, We want to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon...but unfortunately have about 1 1/2 week for vacation.... We want to also be able to see all the islands while we were there...so we were thinking of going with a cruise.. However, the only cruise line that is based in Hawaii is the Norwegian..I'm not sure if I want book with them since I've heard bad reviews about them... Has anyone had any experiences with them or heard of anything? Good & bad? It would be either Pride of Aloha or Pride of America ship...most likely Pride of America since we plan to go at the end of this year. Thanks!

My parents have been on two norwegian cruises and have LOVED it each time!
Both ones they have gone on the cruise line bumped them up to nicer suites.

| My mom has done the Hawaiin Cruise with Norwegian - But I can't remember with what ship. Have you cruised before? My mom (and stepdad) have been on over 10 cruises, all with different companies and different price ranges. I don't want to scare you, because if this is your first cruise, then you won't know any different, but if you have cruised before, then you will notice some things. For example, I guess there is a rule that because the ship stays in the US, it needs to have a US staff. Which equals to ***ty service. HOWEVER, mom said that you are hardly on the ship because pretty much every day you are at a port. Other then the service, the only other complaint was the decor was a little over the top, and they really pushed the "Americana" theme down your throat. She would only do the cruise again because it was a Hawaii cruise, and the islands made up for the poor service. I hope this helps a bit - but just to warn you, I think those 2 ships are the only ones that are docked in Hawaii...I think all other cruiselines leave from LA, San Diego or Vancouver, and like you said, it's all timing. (plus, you're at sea for like 4-5 days if you leave from North America)

| I have been on 2 previous cruises before. So I definitely know that service & food are one of the main factors that will either make or break your experience. Which I heard both are not very good on the Norwegian. We are limited to time otherwise I would definitely consider another cruiseline. Also, I think we wanted to stay & enjoy Hawaii for a few extra days before returning home.
