Hi everyone!  I'm not getting married till Aug. 2009, but I've started thinking about my honeymoon.... I am not sure where to go yet... I know it will be 2 weeks, possibly 1 week on a cruise, and one on the beach.  It is also hurricane season, so that is definately a factor.  Just wanted to see where those who are going on theirs in August or who have gone on theirs in August have gone.... thought it would be a un post

We're in the same boat as you....... its hard to plan a honeymoon in August!

We have decided (I think anyhow) to go to hawaii. It will be very hot at that time of year...but we wont have to worry about hurricaines ... just volcanos hahha

We are getting married in PEI, and spending a week there before the wedding.  My parents will be brining our son back to Ontario with them so that we can have a honeymoon.  We are going to spend a couple extra nights in PEI, then a night in Nova Scotia, then a couple nights in Quebec city, and maybe a night in Montreal...  We plan to do a lot of activities too including white water rafting, hot air ballooning, possibly sky diving, if we go to Montreal we will go to LaRonde, etc.

However, if we didn't have a child we would probably leave the country for our honeymoon.  I would love to go on a cruise in the mediterranean.  Either that or honeymoon in Italy or Spain....  maybe France....  But if those aren't in the budget, maybe an alaskan cruise... that would be fun.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.  There are so many options!

We went to Tahiti...we spent one week in Moorea and the second week in Bora Bora!! The weather was gorgeous in August, we were very happy that it didn't rain. In fact there were times when it was a little too hot to stay in the sun! But we got some wicked tans!

I didn't do it for a honeymoon (I went on my own), but it would be totally perfect for that too:  I went to the south of France (Nice, Cannes, Monaco) for 5 days, then took a train down to Rome for a few days, train to Pisa then to Florence for a couple of days, then to Venice for a few days.  The weather was amazing, and it could only have been better if I was with the love of my life.  (Don't get me wrong, doing it alone was AMAZING, but it now would be better to share it)

If you want the Carribean but are afraid of the hurricane possiblity try Aruba.  It is far enough out that they are outside of hurricane alley.

I have stayed at the The Holiday Inn , the weather is beautiful and water very warm.
