I think bed/breakfasts have a more 'honeymoon' feel to them!

here are some that I found that I would LOVE to stay at:

Thanks Ladies.. you're helping MAJORLY..!!

smurf993 (3/7/2008)
I am a little biased as i LOVE "FREDDY".  I would be happy enough to go there and relax with FH for a few days.  it is soo o pretty there and a ton to do.  Plus if you get bored you can always take a pop down to one of the smaller towns like gagetown (the village not the base..lol).  I think it would be a very romantic way to pass the time.

Now, i want to head up there for a trip... i would love to have breakfast at Franks Dinner on the other side of the River....lol  i haven't had it for over two years now...

However, if you live in Mocton... what about Halifax?? it is only a 2 1/2 hour drive from there.  There are a MILLION things to do there.  you wcould spend the day just exploring barrington st and spring garden road.

Hmmm and if you wanted to get very cozy.  What about the Digby pines.  you take the ferry across in St john, and spend time on the south shore of NS... quiet fishing villages etc.  (i am currently living digby... that is where the thought came from).

I love Freddy too!! We are getting married 45 minutes away from freddy in a little town called "Boiestown" ... it's around the Doaktown area.. very beautiful. Wonderfully pretty trees.

Also, thanks for the links & the ideas girls. I'm gonna go check some more stuff out right now.. && look into a few of your suggestions Thanks for being soo helpful! I love this site!!

Those are some awesome links, thanks! I saved a few to 'favorites' so FH & I can take a look together when he gets home.. !!.. we were discussing it & thinking about forgetting the honeymoon for now, but I'd really like just a few nights. At the least. So he suggested us stay somewhere for a night or two & than come home for the week & relax. ...

I think that you should at least splurge on a FEW nights!! OR.. if you decide to go back home.. you can hire someone to romantify your house! i've seen it on TV before... where someone comes into your house..and like stocks your fridge with champaign..and puts flowers all around and turns down your sheets with rose pedals!

Let us know what u decide!

Mt FH and I are having a very simple Honeymoon as well. We're taking a smalle road trip a couple hours away and doing a biking/rock climbing adventure. We're staying at two guest max. B&B I"m SO looking forward to it!. No all inclusives, no fancy resorts with 1000's of people crowding your space by the pool.

You'r not alone, although it is a bit discouraging looking at all the topics on the Honeymoon board and seeing that everyone is going to Jamaica, or Cuba, or the Dominican! Personally, if you're having a summer wedding, I don't see a point of going away somewhere tropical since the weather will be hot where you are .

Thanks for the responses ladies.. me & FH were talking about it.. and we're still not sure.. but we're thinking along the lines of stayiong a few nights at a B&B .. than heading back home and having champagne.. and renting a bunch of movies and just curling up together and enjoying the rest of the week.. hmm, there's a couple things we'd probably end up doing, like going out for dinner and such! We still arne't 100% sure WHAT we're doing these are just ideas.. hmm, I'll get bakc to you ladies when we fully decide!

Hi there,

We live in Fredericton, and my hubby and I love going to Alma, at Fundy Park. They have two spots there that we love to stay at:

The Falcon Ridge Inn, which has 4 rooms all the same,  all with fireplaces and whirlpool tubs and it includes breakfast. They also have movies there if you just want to grab a dvd and watch it in your room. Its super relaxing and the price isn't bad, $89-$125 plus tax a night depending on the time of year.

We also love Cliffeside Suites, which has 3 suites all with a kitchen, and all have fireplaces, one has a whirpool tub. And they all have bbqs, so you can do your own cooking. Its $99-$129 a night plus tax.

We go to Alma to hike a few trails, eat ice cream and veg out. Its a nice spot, if you are looking to go somewhere not to far from home. If you are going to be using any of the trails in Fundy Park, you should get a park pass for a few days.

And, if you are getting married in Boiestown, you could always go to Larsen's Log Lodge in Millvill. They have romantic suites as well, but they are more expensive.

Here are the sites:

Good Luck!
