HI All ... I am desperately seeking advise regarding what to do about my wedding rings that were custom made to match my e-ring.
I have posted on the boards my extreme displeasure with the rings, and my dilemma regarding what to do about it.
I have spoken to my family and suggested I write a letter to the jeweller - they said that would be rude, and that I should just go back there and express my concerns (how do you tell them that you don't like their design that you have already paid for??).
I knew what I wanted - a simple diamond band, but as always, felt I was talked into something other than what I wanted and now I have what I don't want.
Does anyone know if jewellers can melt down the white gold, save the diamonds and re-create something else?
Has anyone had this dilemma and what did you do about it?
Any suggestions as to how I should handle this would be appreciated - I am losing sleep over it!
Thanks SO much.

Personally, I think your set is breath taking and beautiful. But it's obviously not what you want and thats what matters the most. Tell you want to down size.

BYW, I know that many jewellers re-use diamonds if they're in good condition. I know for a fact that mine will, as long as it comes from his store. Good luck. But if it doesn't work out in your favour just know that your ring is gorgeous!

Thanks! I just feel so terrible - again not wanting to hurt the jewellers feelings - he was so proud of it (as is my fiance).
It's just too much for me.
I am going to call the store today to see what my options are. They were a very nice older couple so I'm hoping they will accommodate my request.
I'll keep you posted! Wish me luck.

I would just say something like....the rings themselves are stunning and you fell in love with it you didnt think there would be a problem but once you got home and put them together you just realized its a bit too much for your dainty hand and want something exactly like that because its such a nice design..but smaller???

You need to speak to your jeweller. Im sure they will be very accomodating, you have to wear these rings for the rest of your life. If they are a good store, customer satisfaction will be their number one priority. I do think you should have discussed your displeasure with them before paying, but that is done and over with now. All you can do is see what they can do for you,,, if they are uncooperative, take the rings to another jeweller and have them melt the rings down and create something different. That will be expensive, but these rings have to be worn a long time! You better make sure you are in love with them!

Good luck, I know it will turn out fine in the end!

I can't see pics that are posted like that for some reason, any way you could embed the pic in a post so I can see?

I am sure it is not as bad as you think it is, it might just grow on you!  That being said, the jeweller should definitely help you out, all they want is a satisfied customer.
