I would have killed her. I would have walked up the Princess Leila (or whatever her name is) the rest of the SW people, got FMIL & asked them to leave & call security to have them escorted out of the building.

portia123 (3/19/2008) Sounds like her guests were having so much fun that they forgot to eat. How is that a bad thing??
You can't seriously think that after reading the original post right?
Absolutely! If the surprise had been unwelcome, the guests would have ignored it. Instead, it took an hour for them to finish being excited.
I truly don't think that was an attempt to ruin someone's wedding. Just a misguided show of love. I tend to think the best of people, though...
It sucks that the surprise cut into the speeches. They mean the most to the bride and groom, after all! (Although they can be boring for guests...)

The guests may have enjoyed it, but the wedding is not all about the guests! The wedding was supposed to be a dream come true day for the newlyweds.. not a night of entertainment for the guests. I would have been LIVID!

I would have been LIVID! I agree with this! I mean come on, Star wars! at a wedding! Talk about making a joke out of something. Like if the MIL really wanted this done as a "surprise" she could have done it at any other smaller get together, but that is just plain rude. And the couple missed out on the dinner and dance and speeches and who know what else. If that were me I would regret that for the rest of my life.

She ruined their wedding. There were many other things she could have done. Or hmm cleared it with the bride first??
