| I didn't even get to choose where my fiance and I wanted to go. My mother-in-law to be said she was paying for it in full and that she would have a say in where we'd go. *Arrrggh* Both me and my fiance wanted to go to Banff/Jasper and do it a few months after our wedding in the summer, but nope. Medling mother-in-law booked ours near Algonquin Park--1 hour drive away from where we live now. Me and my fiance love the outdoors and apprecieate this very much, BUT BUT I wanted a real honeymoon AWAY from everything in life and to explore on our own. By the way, we're headed to Adventure Lodge in Whitney.

| I drive through the area all the time (I live in Barrie, my parents are in Renfrew and I enjoy driving the scenic route), and I have never heard of the place... Adventure Lodge, eh? The site has lots of information but not many pictures.... Being from closer to the area than DH and I, have you heard anything about them from a former guests point of view? Either way, someone else is paying, and from the sounds of it, your inlaws aren't going with you! My parents decided to go to England and Scotland for their late honeymoon the summer after they were married. When my dad's dad found out where they were going, he went to the same travel agent and booked all the same flights, hotels, and tours that my parents did for both him and my grandmother as a "surprise" for them. A chance to "bond" if you will....... my mom almost killed him. Think of this trip as something to tide you over until you make it to Banff. -Marianne

| SHE WHAT??? OMG She booked your honeymoon? Thats insane! We booked a cruise, then my FMIL told me that we should have booked to go to Quebec City because "its european & romantic" - why this is funny is because she doesn't seem to know her son very well...... If you don't want to go then don't, no one has a right to book your honeymoon for you!

| My reasction was the same as yours! LOL I was like "WHAT?" I couldn't grumble or groan, but had to put on a perky smile and just go with it. Afterwards you can imagine the words i had with my fiance, nice ones of course, well, in the nicest way i could be without offending him. I am looking forward to our next summer vacay to Banff/Jasper.

If I were in your shoes, I would call her gift to Algonquin a "trip" UNTIL you can afford a "Real Honeymoon"!!!!
