As some of you might know, FH and I are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon. We've been looking to book our flights and we cant decide if we should fly out of Vancouver or drive down to Seattle.

If we go from Seattle it will be about $350 cheaper... but I've never flown out of the US .. is there anything I should worry about?

Nothing at all to worry about. My parents do it all the time because flights are almost always half the price. The only thing to consider is that you will have to pay for parking where you may not have had to if someone dropped you off and picked you up from your local airport.

I just went out of Buffalo for March Break.  You just have to remember to claim what you bring back and as of last week... its $100 CDN each / day you are gone.  I doubt you will be purchasing a TON (like we did because of the outlet stores).  If you save a few hundred... do it.  Parking was $40 US for the week for us which was the bad part

For 350$$ difference - fly from the US. Thats a great savings! The security is no different than here and like the PP said, just be ready to declare your purchases!!

Wouldn't I have to declare my purchases anyways? if I was flying from Vancouver?

Sooooooo much easier - go for it!  It's a domestic flight so no trying to clear customs (other than driving across the border).  Much less stressful.

Check prices on leaving your car at an airport hotel.  Airports can be a fortune for parking.  I've flown out of Duluth and Minneapolis MN and both times it was only $20/week to leave my car (in a monitored lot) and there was a free shuttle to the airport.
