| Hi all, So we booked our honeymoon, a few months after our wedding, but it will be worth the wait. We are going to Italy for 3 weeks. We will be staying in Treviso, which is near Venice. We plan to see all of Italy, or until we are broke...lol... Any recommendations of definite most see? Also, any tips on what to avoid or be careful of. Thanks

| I was in Rome a while back, so I could only tell you about that area. We really enjoyed Assisi, its a small area outside of Rome. Its a little walled town and the chapels and shops there are sweet. Plus it looks out over the whole countryside. My tips: -Be careful of crazy fast people on scooters, they don't stop for pedestrians, haha! -tuck a shawl or scarf into your bag when you are sight seeing, some places in Rome like cathedrals or other historical sites will not let you in if women are wearing tank tops or shorts. I took a large scarf and used it over my shoulders and even used it as a skirt once, wrapped around my waist. Kath

From Venice, you can take a water taxi to a whole bunch of little islands. One island is called Murano and that is wear they make all the fancy glasswork and jewelery and you can watch them make it, and if you buy it there its way cheaper than Venice.

If you get a chance... there is a little island off of Naples called Ischia. It's less touristy than Capri, but just as gorgeous. I HIGHLY recommend it!! Amazing sunsets!
You get there by ferry and it's super reasonable. They have these huge lemons... like the size of a melon and they're sweet enough to eat.
Feel free to PM me if you want more info and I'll look up my travel diary for where we stayed. We had a little self catering apartment with a roof terrace.
Other than that, everywhere is gorgeous. I spent 2 weeks and saw lots (but not near enough). Pompeii is amazing if you like that sort of thing. Sorrento was really cute as well, and off the beaten path a bit.
*Sigh* Everything is worth seeing there.... have FUN!!!!

| I second Ischia (Sorrento too, both of which I prefer to Capri). Also, I love Firenze and if you've never been you should do Rome at least once in your life. I've never been but I'd also love to see Sardegna one day.

| If you can, head down south and see Pompeii. I went when I was on a tour of Europe and it was definately a highlight of the trip. If you can get a tour to guide you around there I recommend it as it's a very large area and there are a lot of interesting things they will be able to point out that you may miss otherwise. I also recommend the town San Gimignano. It's in the Tuscan area (South West of Florence) and is very beautiful. It is a wall cities and has about 45 or so towers within it's cities walls. I found it to be very picturistic.
